George

how much notice do you need to whip up one of the kits

I am installing a !HDT from an 80 and a/H55/Splitcase from a HJ60 in my 40 and am still sourcing parts---is it major pain to install this once all this goes into the 40?

thanks

funny you should ask......

i'm working on a 1990 fj62 right now. it's receiving a 1hz with turbo and intercooler, h55f and split case. hit me up if you need any help with the conversion.

as for the kits, they're in stock and i always ship within one working day of receiving payment. since i have brought these to the market, i have only been out of stock once waiting for a particular part. i currently have 6-8 kits in stock.

install in a 40 should'nt be a big deal at all.

ps, here's something you might be interested in. Valley Hybrids exclusive:

i now offer 4spd and 5spd billet shift knobs for the h42 and h55f transmissions. these match the AA billet shift knobs for the twin stick setup. due to the low volume they're not cheap, $42.98 each.

here's a pic.

Hi Georg,

I received my twin stick kit.

Any progress on a set of installation instructions?

Or maybe some photos of how the sticks are bent for various configurations, and detail on how best to set angles of parts and how to setup the lower arm with metal ball and white plastic block parts?

Thanks,
Simon

hey simon.
thanks for the pm and the post. the e-brake kit is made by a company here in the states, TSM; The Streetrod Manufacturer. they specialize in disc brake conversion and e-brake kits. nice quality parts and they've been around for a long time. the first kit i bought from them was back in 1989 i believe.......and i've been a loyal customer since.

sorry, no "written" instructions for the kit. not yet anyways. going thru some tough times ( personally ) right now and just have not had time to do a complete write-up yet.

the shifters will need to be bent according to what vehicle they're going in and what powertrain combo they're being used on. there's not "one correct way" to bend them. this is very application specific.

as for the 2-4wd linkage, it needs to be cut to lenth at the top ( where it gets welded to the shifter block ) and sometimes at the bottom ( at the t-case end ). you will need to drill a .430 hole for the steel ball pivot which can then be welded in place. the white nylon "shift shoe" then snaps onto the ball just like the oem setup.
the location of the .430 hole in the shift linkage depends on the angle of the linkage and where the pivot bolt is located in relation to the t-case. so there's not one correct location for it either.
measure twice, cut once.

Georg, sent you a PM about the applicability of your kit to an H41 and Orion combination. I would like to buy one if it will work.

Thanks,
Lee

EDIT: Got your PM back as soon as I posted this! Thanks, and I will definitely buy the AA kit from you. PM'ed back with my zip code and etc.

Twin Sticks

George,

I too (like "1911" above) have a H41 coupled to an ORION, and would like to know the applicability of your twin stick setup to my specific setup. I am interested in purchasing a kit. Do you have some closer pics of the sleeve that slides over the 2wd/4wd selector shaft?

Thanks,
Chris

thanks for the posts guys!

my kit is designed to work with the split cases. it's loosely based on the AA kit for the earlier one-piece case. before i started making this kit i contacted AA ( i have a great long-time working and personal relationship with them ) to see if they were looking into or interested in making a kit for the split cases. at that time they were not so i inquired if they would be ok with me purchasing some of their kit parts to produce my own kit. i got their blessing to go ahead and that's how "my" kit came about.

if you need a kit for the early cases, then the AA kit is the way to go. you can either buy it directly from them:

715570-4 | Engine & Transmission Conversion Adapters - Advance Adapters

but they are also availbale from any of the authorized AA resellers, including myself. i sell that kit for $194.99

the AA kit uses a new 2-4wd shift rail and comes with everything needed to make the swap happen. i have bought and sold a lot of these kits and they work great. i have also installed quite a few on customers' vehicles with no complaints.

Georg,
I have an H41 4 speed with a split t case attached. Your kit is the right one for my application correct?
John

Are these now being supplied with the kit or just available as aftermarket? If available as aftermarket where do I get these?

Thanks,

Clint

hey clint.
sorry i did'nt reply sooner, just saw your post. i sell the knobs, they do not come with the kits. the kits do include the standard black plastic knobs.
