Oh, its definitely $63.2K - have seen it in every Toyota press release. That's why I was so shocked to see a 12% increase in base MSRP. And that's before destination and options which will be a minimum of $3K depending on which one you choose.

Having said all that, I would still go the 2008 route. You can be our guinnea pig. :grinpimp:

I just called to work a deal on a white (no pinstripe) 2007 at my friend's dealership near Tucson. It's sold.

I don't know. Not sure if I want a Land Tundra for $63.2K plus the big option package.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but every 2007 Land Cruiser that came into the North Eastern area was loaded up including DVD with a sticker price around $65 to $66K , I think the 2008 will come with more standard equiptment and come in around $70k loaded. Nobody's gouging anybody. The current LS460 with Navigation is only $3k more than the 2006 LS430. I think Toyota has done a good job with thier pricing on both Lexus and Toyota's. The 2008 Lexus GX470 with Nav. third row seat and rear A/C is $1600.00 cheaper than the 2007 with the same equipt.
Just my 2 cent and I've sold Lexus for the last 18 year's at the same dealership and was always shocked at how close in price the LX and LC were ,yeah when you compare the base prices there's a huge difference, but Toyota only brought in loaded Land Cruiser.

Good logic...however...if the 2008 is a Land Tundra instead of a Land Cruiser I will not buy it. Im an aggressive wheeler and will demand a Land Cruiser.

Luke111 - I agree on the pricing comments. Toyota has done a good job. Compared to Land Rover and Mercedes G-class, it's certainly in line.

Related note, I'm in Herndon and have a 2006 LC. My parents have purchased 3 vehicles from Lindsay. When the new LX-570 arrives later in the year, let me know and I will stop-by the dealership to take a look.

I agree on the Land Tundra point. Va Runner email me your info and I'll be happy to keep you in the loop, also your parents name, I'll make sure to stay in touch with you.

Now now, lets not jump to conclusions. Just because it looks like a Tundra suspension doesn't mean it is. We have to wait and take a closer look. To me it just resembles a Tundras suspension.

God you guys are killing me.

WE WANT THE GOD DAMN LAND CRUSIER TO HAVE THE TUNDRA FRONT SUSPENSION!!!

The new Tundra has the best IFS Toyota has ever built. 12" of travel with $1600 dollars worth of upper control arms and 2.5" coilovers sound bad to you???

Damn thing has as much travel as the previous generation Tundra with $5000 worth of long travel kit.

Your 100 series is probably about as much a Land Tundra as the 200 series. That said, what objective information do you have that the brand new, redesigned, Tundra suspension/axles are too weak or not strong enough?

amazing, you guys are applauding Toyota for offering a base vehicle price of $64K. Very impressive, Toyota, just impressive. Oh, by the way, everyone buying this, don't start crying when the 4-runner, FJ and GX start offering these 'new' features and charge nothing more than 1-3%.

The japanese site has some specs and photos. Not much in english and I do not read japanese.

http://toyota.jp/landcruiser/dynamism/suspension/index.html
Submenus under the photo are engine etc.

No diesel listed yet, japanese engine is 4.6litre, 212kw (288hp), gets 6.6km/l on japanese 10/15 test cycle, 350g/km of CO2.
Wonder when it'll be released in Australia and New Zealand. Diesel must be still getting refined, the low power version has been out for a while now in the 70 series.

Does the new Tundra have the same suspension/steering as the FJ Cruiser? If so, a potential problem I wonder about is in the steering. I'm happy that Toyota put the tie rods up front on the Tunrda/FJ/Taco/4Runner instead of low and vunerable like the previous generation Tacos and Tundras, but FJ Cruisers seem to snap steering rods way to easy.

I can't ever recall any 100s snapping a steering rod even with 35" tires. Not that it's never happened, but I've seen (on the web anyway) FJ Cruisers break down, in situation's where John's 100 seems to go with no problems.

The 200 does have a bigger front ring gear, but aluminum diff case, so the strength remains to be seen and it's carrying a lot more weight and has to deal with a lot more engine torque so who knows how well it will do out on the trail.

The 100 shares nothing with the Tundra, new or old, except for the engine, so its kind of unfair to compare it, while the new 200 shares at much of the drivetrain and possibly the front suspension with the new Tundra.

I prefer my old outdated 80, but if given a choice between the 100 or 200, I'd rather have a brand new time tested and updated 100 than a brand new 200 and be the guinea pig for Toyota. But I willing to give the 200 a chance to prove itself over time.
