I haven't had the best experience with my current Toyota shop in Grants Pass, Oregon.

Can you refer your preferred Landcruiser/Toyota mechanic in this area? Grants Pass area to Ashland? Anywhere in the Rogue Valley....

I have a A/C issue that my current shop hasn't been able to fix after four attempts. Time to go elsewhere...

And a shimy/shock rattle noise that he thinks is normal too. And the truck still pulled after an alignment. And the RPM and odometer aren't correct after a engine swap and and and...

I'm thinking you're SOL down where you're at. Not a lot of options. What is the AC issue? Shimmy, shock rattle and pulls after alignment...is it lifted..details? Engine swap to the same model engine or other? Odometer incorrect...tire size..was it an engine a trans swap? What do you mean by correct also?

I do have a 97 LX 450 converted to a 2uz-fe. It has a 4" Slee lift and a 1'' body lift. 35's. So, ya, the speedometer/odometer/tach are not correct because of the engine/computer/tire size difference, but the un named mechanic didn't attempt to fix these when performing the conversion.

The A/C issue is a leak of refridgerant. The first two times he just filled it up. Leaked right back out in a day. Next he said he found a faulty fitting and fixed it. Well, I tried the A/C on the drive home from the shop and it didn't blow cold. It worked great before the engine swap.

And the suspension rattle happens mostly at low speed, or that's when i hear it most. Sounds like its a shock mount issue...compared to strut noises I've heard in other cars.

The alignment I mentioned because I just took it to him to get the alignment done, the brakes bled, the A/C fixed, and the rattle diagnosed.

I got it back pretty much the same. I didn't notice any changes to these items.

It doesn't help that he's Jehovah Witness and I have dreadlocks, I think.

While not a cruiser place, Rogue Automotive helped me out while I was down in that area with some odd axle noises. It's on N Central Ave. Really great service.

Go a little further. You have 2 of the best cruiser mechanics within @orangefj45 in Stockton or @torfab in Seattle area. Both will treat you right and be able to fix your problems.

You can also search for the list of cruiser mechanics by state, iirc it's in the 40 section?? Or 60??? I don't recall

If you want to travel some, Throttleworks in Boise, Idaho could certainly fix journal wiring integration issues, and the other items as well.

@FJBroBri sounds like you have the makings of a monster and you're just looking to dial it in. All the info you provide does helps paint the picture of what's going on. As far a Jehovah's Witness and dreads go, I don't know that there is anything there, but you never know. So, it sounds like this guy did the swap and it was half a job and you want it fully functional like most people who pay someone good money want. I suppose you either tell him to fix it, and fix it right, or tell him he needs to pay someone who can do it correctly and if he doesn't, you'll contact the better business bureau and take him to small claims.

Thank you, I know it's hard for me to detail any potential discrimination....nor is it necessary, it just seems to be one of our key differences...and I can't figure out any other reason why he dragged out the build for an extra couple months, and didn't get everything finished up. AND then, not be able to fix the remaining issues....

@FJBroBri Sounds to me like the guy may not have all the knowledge necessary for doing the complete swap. May just. E pretty mechanically inclined and then internet knowledge made him overly confident that he could do the job and make a buck. Depending on your level of mechanical ability you can do some simple testing yourself as well as tackle most if not all of these repairs. If you chose the latter let me know and I can walk you through diagnosing and fixing most of the issues through messaging. Shouldn't require much more than a ratchet and wrench set, wire cutters/strippers and some tape, just Basic hand tools should be enough to get the job done.

Thank you brother! This is the step I need to take to be more independent.
