So were looking at 80 square feet for just the floor and roof. The doors are most likely what.....3x3 so 9 square feet? so 36 square feet for the doors = 116 total square feet to really get a damn quite ride.

So we are looking at about $430.18 for the whole rig using one layer of the Damplifier Pro™ purchasing the bulk pack and shop pack.

I think i might put my trust in Second Skin Rep, I looked up Raammat and they are aren't that bad of price either. 62 sq ft for 110 dollars. Put that everywhere then also have my basic carpet padding and carpet.

Elemental Designs V1SE2 deadening

I just bought 120 sq ft of Elemental Designs eDead v1SE² thru Amazon.com. My nephew is a stereo installation manager and recommended it as an alternative to Dynamat. He said customers have liked it in their vehicles and it is much cheaper than either dynamat or second skin. The company has other products as well, including some brush on stuff. (go to Amazon.com and search for "elemental-designs")

The good news, 120 sq. feet and a roller with shipping to CA cost me $242.50 or $2.00 a foot, delivered. You can buy it straight from the company but shipping was more expensive.

I am combining that with a roll of vehicle insulation with foil backing I got from JC Whitney (found it other places, but this was cheapest at $80). Part number ZX268585)

Mud discount????

As it is now, Damplifier, or entry level product is about $2.34 per square foot, has a foil heat sheild 3 times thicker than our pirces competitive competition and is 20% thicker. (also,it is designed to be used in cars, not roofing)

If there is engouh interest, we might do a group buy or somthing like that, provided the mods here allow it. I do not want to spam this board and get kicked off. So if you do want an IH8MUD discount maybe I'll do.... 10 orders at 20% off for Damplifier....

only if it is cool with the mods

I'm in and I'll pick it up in Arizona too!! Let me know if this will go ahead.

I would be interested, if I did my calc's right with that 10% discount it would be just little bit more than the Raammat (which was about 1.80 a sq ft). So I would be interested in a group order.

I am in Arizona as well.

As a mod I don't have a problem with group buys especially if I get the special mod discount:D
It does need to be understood that IH8Mud llc is not involved.

It is good that the members have initiated the group buy. I don't feel there was a vendor solicitation. That wouldn't have been cool.

It would be nice if the vendor was a red star sponsor, but Woody has never made that a requirement for doing business on Mud.

thank you...both for providing the answers AND for the vendor support!

I see a "group buy" thread starting soon in the Vendor corner ;)

New to the site, where is the vendor corner?

I am not familiar with Speedliner.
If it is a polyurea bed liner, I sugest going with one of our sound deadener Damplifier mats rather than our vibration sprays.
Our sprays are water based, which by nature is limited when it comes to adhering to plastics and bed liner materials.

Call me up for more spacifics.

Second Skin Rep:

Saw on your website that a guy with a 1936 rod resto used the spray only with no matting. He cited that he felt it would trap water and cause rust. Does the matting absorb water?

Say hypothetically using all your products together results in 100% sound deadening. What percentage would you say just doing the brush-on or spray-on product only would register in at? I know it's impossible to give an exact number but an estimate would help.

Thanks!! John

Got my padding, now I am ready to install but I have a few questions.

First I want to rip the rest of the existing carpet and padding out. What does everyone recommend for getting that old glue off?

I then want to paint the bottom. I have a 4 day weekend coming up and my plan was to do it all that weekend. My brother said you might want to check on that, he wasn't sure how soon the paint would be dry enough to glue things to it. I mentioned if I can possibly get it all repainted by thursday night, would I be able to put the padding and carpet in on monday? Do I need more time, or less time?

I am also planning on putting on the new emergency brake (a used 60 brake cable, I have FJ60 axles on my Fj55 so it curently is without a brake) and put the heater back in. Will post a few pics when I am doing it.
