The Chapter Reports were missing from the Mar/Apr Toyota Trails due to space limitations in that issue, so I figured I'd run it here for all to see. Maybe just print this out and staple it in your magazine!

Toyota Trails March/April 2018
TLCA CHAPTER REPORTS
Old North State Cruisers

As is the case when the weather is cold, the trails are closed, and your wallet is still empty from Christmas shopping, deep thoughts and long conversations become more important. Topics range from the practical to the hypothetical to the philosophical to the hysterical. Case in point - some of us were recently discussing whether the percentage of 200 Series in the club matches the percentage of 200’s sold versus other models of Cruisers sold. That led to wondering what those numbers are, which led to wondering exactly how many Cruisers ONSC owns, which led to wondering if anyone will ever know how many Rafael owns* (which is something his wife asks all of us as often as she can). I encourage each club out there in TLCAville to run some numbers and let us know how many of each model is represented in your club. I hope to have our results by the autumn issue of Toyota Trails. (*the number is 3…yeah, that sounds about right, Jennifer…)

We finished up 2017 with our traditional Christmas party. This year was a blast with a chili cook-off, our largest ‘Dirty Santa’ gift exchange yet, our year end trial maintenance day and approximately two cords of firewood cut and split on site for our gracious hosts. We worked hard and we played hard.

The early part of 2018 has seen ONSC working hard towards our major events for the year. First up, and possibly the most important to many members and guests, will be the 3rd Annual Carolina Relic Run. Among improvements we’ve made to the prior two, we’ve moved the event to the cooler weather of early Spring in an effort to make the journey more comfortable for the drivers of those fine, non-air-conditioned trucks that we all love. With many drivers coming from over 500 miles away, it was the least we could do! My vote was for “Just Pass Me Already” bumper stickers in the registration packs but we couldn’t decide between Olympus White or Cygnus White for the background color. But wait, there’s more! We also added an extra day to the beginning of the event, so now we begin on a Thursday to squeeze in more fun and make the trek even more worthwhile for those who travel from far and wide to hang out with us in our fine little piece of North Carolina. We continue to encourage all attendees to adopt the “period correct” mentality regarding clothing and camping equipment related to the year of their truck. We’re all getting really excited and hope you are, too. Visit our website to learn more and to register.

The ONSC Board of Directors elections happen at about the time you receive this issue. There will be some new blood on the Board this cycle and we’re excited to see what comes of it over the next couple years. It’s not always easy to oversee a club of our size and we are thankful for every member who has stepped up to the plate to commit so much of their time to help run things.

Preparation and testing has been underway for a few months among our small contingent of Rubithon attendees. Making this event is just not a practical possibility for most of us on the east coast so we are really excited to be able to enjoy this fabled and famous adventure vicariously through the lucky few. In fact, there has been a rush of people hoping to secure a passenger seat in one of the rigs for this epic adventure.

As always, fellow Land Cruiser enthusiasts are always welcome here. Whether you drive or fly to our fine state, please continue to let us know that you’re coming. We’d love to have you spend some time with us. Find us at www.ONSC4x4.com or at our clubhouse on www.ih8mud.com.

Best chapter report in a while (although JohnVee's reports are always excellent, IMO). It's a shame it didn't make the issue. I bet Rafael is glad it didn't though. He would have been sweating this issue right about now...especially since he picked up yet another 80 just a couple of weeks ago! How many? Three? Pffft!
