I'm down! I was thinking last week I need to just plan something for next summer and get it in the books. Since family vacation was in Hawaii this summer it means next vacation or two have to be on the the cheap. Perfect timing.

Here's an idea. Everyone brings a sixer of a local beer that isn't available elsewhere. Throw them all together and all who pitched in pull out 6 different beers. No need to have a raffle as everyone wins! Great way to try a brew you haven't had before.
Awesome Guys! Thanks for the interest. I was just so surprised that there was not a pre-existing older land cruiser event sanctioned here... Too much beauty & awesome trails to pass up. Plus it is a nice change of pace wheeling in a National Forest which is FREE to roam wherever!
Keep your calendars semi clear for mid August because that looks like it is going to be our best bet to try and avoid crashing anyone else's party.

Cimarron, that is genius! I might have to get some friends in Pinedale, Wyoming to send me a 6 Pack of the Wind River Brewing Blonde Ale.. Best beer that i've ever enjoyed. Maybe it was because I was in the woods backpacking for 5 days before I had my first one
And for the guys coming from the southern states: There is a BEAST of a trail near Alamosa, Colorado right off CO 160 from Walsemburg/ i25 that we could hit on the way to Ouray.. It's called "Lake Como Road" and goes up to Blanca Peak (14er)
33s could slip through with a locker & sliders but I'd say 35s minimum due to the amount of big boulders that have to be scaled (shelf road with not a lot of bypasses and big cliffs)..
I did it by myself with my roommate (kinda dumb) but he spotted and we made it to the lake to climb Blanca Peak the following morning.
