The NFS has the whole area under Stage 2 fire restrictions for good reason. Please plan accordingly.

Hopefully this will change, monsoon moisture flow from the south is expected later this week. Santa Fe National Forest dropped from Stage 3 to Stage 1 yesterday due to some recent rains and increased humidities.

When one of our young cousins was visiting from Austin years ago we were out on the driveway one night. She looked up, saw some stars in a pattern, and asked what that was. She had never seen the Big Dipper before. Clear as a bell up here in the mountains, without a lot of lights around, should be the same at the KOA seeing as it's between Ouray and Ridgway.

Question.... Should I go ahead and upgrade my tires from 31” tractor style tires to 33” KM2’s before SAS or just use what I’ve got???

There's now a KM3 in 7.50R16 as an option. They're sweet. Cheaper than 255/85's too.

There ya go Daniel. Much better tire for driveability without changing the overall effectiveness. I knew you had traction issues at Jambo, this would be a great upgrade.

I pulled the trigger yesterday on 33” KM2’s! Also my 270 awning came in today from Terrain4wdusa.

Well that would’ve been nice to know. The guy told me no go on Km3’s yet. Discount tire must be behind the times. :/

I got mine from Tirebuyer.com. they were at my door in a couple days, they had them stocked in Spokane Falls.

@The Jade Bean Here they are next to a 33x10.50 (the KM3 is mounted on a 16x6 wheel at 35 psi.) The KM3 is taller, but doesn't have any weight on it.

Others have reported they're about an inch shorter than a 33x10.50R15 KM3. Different (older) sizing convention, they're just a 7.50R16. These are going on my '40, unless my '62 sees fit to "borrow" them.

Hey guys, I'm registered for SAS and this will be my first year attending so looking forward to meeting many of you on the trail. I'm a local, I live in Buena Vista, CO and so it's relatively nearby destination for me to get out to the San Juans. There's a local brewery near here that I posted about earlier - Soulcraft based out of Salida, CO. One of the owners drives an FJ60 and they have some cool branded beer and t-shirts that I thought folks might appreciate. Check out the shirts:

If folks are interested I could certainly get a few cases into the back of my rig and probably some t-shirts too. I have no affiliation with the brewery and therefore can't promise any discounts but if we put together a good response and promise some instagram love maybe we can get them to cut us a deal.
