All right folks, am I excited or not? 17 days before we head out to Moab on 8/3 & hopefully meet up with some of you, do some wheeling in Moab & then head over to SAS on Monday 8/6.

Not all, but 'most' of my heavy stuff is already inside the 60, including the tent, tools etc. Will wait until the last to put the bulky but lite stuff on top. Can't be too early to load up...right?? However, Maureen for some reason does not agree. Will be driving the 60 over...no trailer queen. Although, I admit, did consider towing it.

Nice shop.

My brother picked up a very clean LX450 last week so we will be doing some minor work to it over the next two weeks to get it prepped and as long as his time off request gets approved, we'll be taking it to SAS.
Unfortunatly, I didn't have enough time this year to get my 60 ready for the long drive out to Colorado; taking his new 80 is going to be a much better alternative to my '06 4runner.

this one eeeeee.jpg

Very good looking 80. Are you guys going to make Moab?

I see you're putting some carabiners to good use.

Oh yeah, carabiners are the 'right stuff'. I've got several bags from Adventure Tools...full of tools and all heavy...and all lashed down with carabiners.

Were hoping to. We are planning to leave San Jose on the morning of the 3rd, hopefully rolling into moab the evening of the 4th.

Gotcha. Google says I've got an 11 hour drive to Moab. Leaving @ the crack of dawn on 8/3 and hope to meet with Jason & the rest fairly early at the brewery on 8/3.

Ordered 2 sets of rims and neither fit, so I’m just gonna mount them on my splits!

Cim, I like those a lot. On my 60 I currently run 33x10.50x15, I plan to go to 16's on my next tire purchase. Can you please share additional information on those wheels. Avaliability, who to contact etc. Almost afraid to ask...but how pricey??

They were something like $170 each. @beno got them for me.

I wonder if they’d hit the caliper too. I’d hate to buy them and they do. Hmmm...
Well it looks like I’m taking the 40 again so we can test one on yours.

On May 26, 2015 I paid $158.91 each with a 25% MUD discount. American Toyota in Albuquerque, so I picked them up - no shipping. Part Number 42601-60262-03.

Here's what they look like on my '86 FJ60, with BFG LT235/85R16 AT KO2s:

In that cutout around the center shaft, is there a ridge on it on the inside (like from a press). I ask as that’s where it’s hitting the caliper on the aftermarket.

Nice! Looks like you are a receipt/spreadsheet nerd like me. I like to keep track of all my spending for each truck.

Thanks John, I'll certainly take a closer look @ yours once we get to SAS.
