not really a question, just hoping for words of encouragement....my 73 hs an almost completely untouched by p.o.s wiring harness (only spot that's been modified is where they cut the wires to turn signals on the fenders to remove them), but is dryrotted beyond belief!!! the connectors literally turn to dust when you touch them!!! what's the chance that the wiring inside of the elec tape is good and all i'll have to do is splice in short sections with connectors?

why splice in sections? with a very small flat blade screwdriver you can safely remove the plastic housings from the wire/spades and reinstall on the wiring harness. hit up a junyard with some dykes and cut a bunch of the connectors you need and trade the plastic housings. pep boys and other autoparts stores have a set of tools to take the connectors apart that work a bit better than the small electronics screwdrivers I used originally.

i'll have to splice in sections to make them long enough...all the exposed wire insulation is dryrotted also, so each connector has anywhere from 3-12" of rotted wire.
