land of enchantment, at least for now
Dunno if I'll be there, but want to suggest a snow run late in the month. Josh Boltrek will be in from Australia and wants to take his troopy out to play. He gets into Denver on 1/6 and leaves on 1/27, plans to spend most of that in Santa Fe. My preference is for Sunday since I am working most Saturdays, but leave that up to the majority.

in the adgenda!

The way things are going a good snow run may be driving to Santa Fe!

I'm thinking Jan 18th as a starting point - two weeks after the New Year's Day run.

???

Anyone up for a snow run on 1/11? Josh finally has his itinerary, and looks like he'll probably be back in Denver to head home by the 18th.

Quite possibly I can make it, let's start a new thread.

Thanks.

Done and sticky.

I might not be able to make the 11th.

Crap, I forgot that I have a previous engagement. I'm unavailable that weekend.

So, I am confused, which is nothing new. Is the snow run on the 11th or the 18th? I can probably do either weekend. I am anxious to try out the new chains. Just trying to plan my weekends.

You won't be able to make it anyway, so don't worry :D

Where did you end up getting the chains from?

Maybe for me. But is there a run decided on? Meeting time and place?

What's on the Sangre side?

Trip report:
Not very eventful. Josh stopped by the house after a late brekky and we dragged out the poprocket so he could check out the camper. We picked up Jack and left SFe about noon-30 and headed up to Guaje Canyon. The trail was well packed from other traffic, so there were no challenges. We rode in for a bit and stopped for a late lunch. Drove on a little further and were stopped by a down tree (chainsaw occurred to me as soon as we hit the trail, but too late then). We tried to winch it out of the way, but no dice. We turned around and drove some of the other roads in the area, but they were mostly just muddy from sun exposure. Headed out of LA about sunset and toured up to the Valle to see it snow-covered in the near-dark. On the way back through LA, there were some Pajarito Ski Patrollers with a Prius stuck in the snow just before the Camp May road. Josh winched them to the road and we made our way home.

Time to un-sticky this ride and move the Super Bowl run up the line.
