It's home, Got a lot of work to do yet, but overall, I really like it. I've got one big problem. The driver's front fender doesn't line up right. Might have to take it apart and see where we can tweak it some. You'll see the bottom of the fenders aren't bolted down yet, can't do that until the fender is set right.

I just want to bolt up the new shoes and stare at it.:)

Good luck with the fender alignment. My body/paint guy fussed with the driver's door until he was beyond pissed. The alignment is adequate, but I would not call it great by any stretch.

Thanks Guys! The Sand Dune does have a little more " Creamy " look to it. It matches the Monstaliner bedliner, a bit better than Cygnus. I'd like to get it home and the new shoes on it, before posting pictures, got to put some lipstick on her. :)

Rodney, started @ Feb. 2013 on page 16 and finished the rebuild, of the winch @ May. It went from this..

I have PTO envy every time I look at Ron's winch. This is a masterpiece! I took my fairleads apart, screwed up the threads, got pissed, powdercoated some things, but it was basically a "scuff n shoot". Ron took it back to the basics.

Nice job man!

Pablo, Thanks for the kind words. It's funny, all I can think about is taking my Grandkids to the drive in with the 55, so you're the lucky one. :)

Bob, It's going to take a miracle to make is year. I do believe in miracles, so who knows. If not this year, for sure next, we're headed that way!

Congratulations man! That was always my favorite part of the build... When you are far into the up swing of it, installing freshly painted parts, Cheers!

The painter dropped off the tailgate and the gas flap, thought I'd post up some pictures. I talked to a Custom body shop and they're going to look at the fender/hood situation next week.

I'm not real happy with the lettering, the painter was over his head on that, :meh: Not bad from ten feet.

The flap turned out nice.

Looks great Ron. What's the fender/hood situation?

The driver's side fender is not getting close enough to the door, but it's aligned with the hood perfect. The pass. side fender is right on the money, at the door, but out too far from the hood. The painter had a few tricks that worked so far, but we just couldn't get it.

There's a shop in a nearby town, that paints custom and race cars. Going to them next week.

That sounds like a real headache. I hope they're able to get you sorted out. Btw, I'm getting more and more confident that I'm going to be driving my pig before winter. I think once we get a couple of running pigs between us, you, me and Chris need to have a Pig meet along with any other forum members in the area!

What area are y'all in? Pig meets are great fun!

America's bread basket, the rust belt, the Bible belt, America's heartland, tornado alley. A wonderful place to live! :)

What he said

We are actually in NW Arkansas, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Missouri, but still relatively close to one another. I can't remember now how far I am from Ron, but I'm just about 2 hours from Chris

OK, back to work! Made a mounting plate for the Ac unit. It came with it's own plate, but it won't work for us. So, mine bolts to the four stock holes, in the firewall and bolts up to their plate. Here's what I had to work with.

Now, I'm a 90 degree angle kind of guy, don't give me those modern looking designs. Here's what I came up with.

Worked out good. Need to clean up my cuts and powder coat. Sits level, which is important for drainage.

Ron,
I'm working on a mounting plate for my AC now and I was looking at yours.
I'm trying to see how you are going to use the floor vents they include with the kit, it looks like I'll need 3/4" between the AC unit and firewall on mine. Can you post pictures when you get time?

JMack,

Yeah, the vent is something I overlooked, so I made those white spacers and they work good. Might be better out of alum.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Well, I thought I was flush with these emblems, but turns out to be just one. To add insult to injury, it only has two studs on it. Has anybody fixed one, maybe soldered on a stud. I was thinking a jeweler could solder all new threaded studs on. Any ideas?
