WOW! I had to take notes. :)

Took me three hours on IPhone to complete that post, bouncing from thread to two pages on Notes. Haha.

I don't know if this was the right or wrong way to do these things, but it's what I came up with and I'm having fun along the way.

Amen.

Gotcha on rest and I'll update my notes.

Some relevant to my Pig planning, some to other build.

On the 60 PS Gearbox.

How'd you know where to locate considering no engine or other obstacles?

I realize it has to align with drag link, but curious if there's a given template to follow.

On the Lizard Skin.

I spent two days in 110 degree heat putting FatMat on the interior of panels on PP80 and the results were phenomenal (considering 37" Krawler's and unfinished exhaust) but have to tear back into doors to pull handles for paint.....so, considering spraying over the existing deadener that's installed on the entire interior, maybe even the ceramic.

Would you see any issue with adhesion to a foil backed product?

How much total weight would you estimate the average two layers of spray deadener, then two layers of ceramic added overall?

Summer is here and that means Hay Time, so not alot happening in the shop. I wanted to post these pictures of the cleaned up rear window gear. I really think all the dirt and old grease caked up on all the parts, help to break that plastic gear.

I've cleaned and media blasted everything in the tailgate, off to the platers for some cad. plating and alittle Super Lube, before it all goes back in. Thankfully, I have another tailgate, so I can see how everything hooks up. Alot going on in there.

Just having it clean, makes everything work so smooth. Day and night difference. Can't wait to try with it wired up.

Some good news, I got the body mounted on the frame, hopefully for the last time. If it rains, I'll mount the doghouse and start on the interior.

All I got! :)

I hope it rains Ron, can't wait to see more!

Ron, I would be leary of blasting the window piece with the arms - I would be afraid that I would never get all the sand/media out of the pivots that the arms spin on?

Delancy,

I just setup the gear box, on the frame, so the arch of the pitman arm was over the tierod. That way they won't touch, when lock to lock.

On the Lizard Skin, it would be best to call the company. I wouldn't do it, personally. The fatmat could crumble with age or get wet, etc. and make the LZ come loose.

The sound deadener is very heavy, I'd bet twice as much as the Ceramic Insulation. I like the weight in the door panels, etc. gives some body to them.

I wish you could hear the difference between empty and the sprayed parts. Tailgate, doors, floor, all have a rock solid sound to them, no tinny sound at all.

Pablo,

That is a very real concern. After I got the grease and dirt off, I media blasted to get some rust and general cleaning. It took alot of washing in Simple Green and flushing with water and air, but all came out nice. You can tell if any media is still in there.

Before the cleaning, the gears didn't want to move at all. Now it's effortless to move them. After the plating, which the pieces get dunked in a tank, I'll grease them with Super Lube.

Gotcha. I'm undecided on 60 or earlier box, but understand more how the set up proceeds.
Not sure that I'd lose a fair entry with a 60 box, but.....

They're against. It appears I misused the product I have installed as it should've been sporadically stuck in strips, then coating applied

What I figured on weight. If memory serves, (4) boxes of the stuff I used weighed 120lbs.

Mine on the PP80 are solid, so I can only imagine what a completely encapsulated inner skin sounds like.

Delancy,

Nothing, bare metal to bare metal. I welded all around the fish plates and welded the rosette holes. Then painted the outside and coated the inside with Eastwood frame coating.

It's all I could think of. I never had much luck welding the weld through primers.

Come have a ride in my piggy. No deadener and no door panels. That's for when I tear it apart for my PS in a week.

Megadoomer,

I've got my old Military trucks, if I don't want to talk to my Wife, while we're driving. :) This one I want quite, long trip quite.

Good luck with your power steering, I bet it's going to be a big improvement over stock.

Here's a couple fun pictures. My Son and I, got the doghouse mounted and I thought I'd bolt up some pretty stuff.

Next week starting on inside.

Looks amazing! Bet that one was a nice one to bolt up. My favorite part of builds is putting all the freshly painted parts together.... Enjoy it.

Lowtideride,

It is alot of fun bolting things back on, knowing they are going to stay, this time.

Here's one of the battery tray. Room for two Optimas. Bought that tray over a year ago, waiting it's turn.

Thanks Bob,

We were laughing about that today, such a looong way to go.

It's all about the small victories, makes you keep going. I'm not sure I have it in me, guys like Pablo, working eight to ten years on their projects and still be pumped about it.

I better hurry up! :)

Ha! I'm just to dumb to know when to quit is all...

Wish I could say that. 126 bales yesterday. #50 to #60 bales. Picked up and in the barn. So far @ 1000 bales with 4 feilds to go.

I'm a one man show. When I can catch my Wife, she'll drive while I pick up.

On the cruiser front, I've been working on alot of small stuff. Mounted the fuel reg./filter. I had to cut and straighten the PTO shifter, so it would fit in the trans. tunnel.

Ordered more Zero Rust for the inside and started sanding down the old paint, etc.

Ordered my Puma air compressor for my On board air system. I need it for the air lockers and I'll plumb some air chucks around the wagon.

I'll be back! :)

Forgot.....As of July 2nd, I'm a new Grandpa. That makes five. Everybody's fine, even Grandma
