Congrats on the healthy new addition.

I'm going to be in STL this weekend and wish I had time to some down and say "Howdy".

Just don't think I'll have any free time (especially if you're still bailing hay ;)).

Thanks Guys,

One Girl and four Boys, at least I'll have a bunch of tool fetchers running around here. :)

Travis, if you find some time, come on out. I'm @ 35 miles SW of St. Louis. Send me a PM, I promise to shut the tractor off.

Wish I could say that. 126 bales yesterday. #50 to #60 bales. Picked up and in the barn. So far @ 1000 bales with 4 feilds to go.

I'm a one man show. When I can catch my Wife, she'll drive while I pick up.

On the cruiser front, I've been working on alot of small stuff. Mounted the fuel reg./filter. I had to cut and straighten the PTO shifter, so it would fit in the trans. tunnel.

Ordered more Zero Rust for the inside and started sanding down the old paint, etc.

Ordered my Puma air compressor for my On board air system. I need it for the air lockers and I'll plumb some air chucks around the wagon.

I'll be back! :)

Forgot.....As of July 2nd, I'm a new Grandpa. That makes five. Everybody's fine, even Grandma

Ron-

Congratulations on the grandchild!

Thanks guys, nothing like Grandkids. I got one running around the house screaming, right now. :)

Pablo,

here is the best thread on Puma compressors, which made up my mind. https://forum.ih8mud.com/camping-outdoor-gear/166969-puma-12v-compressor.html

I'm going to mount a extra tank under the body to be able to run air tools as well as both the lockers. Way better than the Arb compressor.

Y'all sure go to a lot of trouble to do what this can do......

Granted, not an endless source, but convenient and fast. Can air up 37x12.5x17s from 8psi to 35psi in about 30 seconds and a high quality regulator runs pneumatic impact without freezing up.

Low maintenance and $20 to fill a 20lb tank at any fire extinguisher filler, which is good for (20) single tire air ups (37s. can get (20) 35s from 15psi-35psi on a 10lb tank) and will run (most) air tools for sometime.

Delancy,

You don't use that to run your air lockers, do you. My luck, I would run out of pressure, right when I need it. Do you fill it everytime you go out camping, etc., so you know it's full or gamble with half full or half empty, depending on how you look at things.

No, (elocked) though they can be used for, but a bigger PITA to plumb.

I forgot about the ARBs. My bad, once again, today.

I weighed it empty and note the amount of fills on the side of the tank with dry erase. If its questionable, I'll weigh to make sure I've enough before heading out.

Thanks Ron, I've got some reading to do.

Looks like a tight fit for under the hood of a 55, eh? Do you have your mounting plans all laid put?

Pablo,

Funny you should ask! Mine showed up today.

I'm mounting mine in the back and run an extra tank under the body, mounted on the frame.

That's where the 60 and 80 guys mount 'em. I like it, out of the way and easy to get to.

I'm planning on useing the space in front of it and mounted in the panel as a control center, kind of thing. Anything electrical, that I would need, will be in there. At least, that's the plan for now.

Thanks for those pictures Ron. I was afraid the unit would take up too much room inside the Pig, I guess that could work. I just feel like those oil-less compressors are so loud I would not want to fire one off inside my Pig.

In the location you have pictured, is the tank drain valve occluded?

Pablo,

Yes, the drain is on the other side, but I wouldn't drain it in the wagon anyway. Thinking of running a drain line out the bottom with a shut off on it. Really haven't got that far yet.

On the noise, other people say, it's not too bad. Another reason, I'd like a second tank, fill them both up and the air will last along time, just useing the lockers.

While camping, etc. the noise won't be noticed, if you need to fill something.

Besides, I'm half deaf anyway! :)

Pablo,

Something else, you could always seperate the two, compressor from the tank and mount the tank on the frame. Saves some room.

Yes, I did see some people split them up. Looks like a little more work, and you need heat resistant tubing from the head to the tank? At this point I'm not sure I want to punch more holes in my Pig to run plumbing. I doubt I'll ever run air lockers in the Pig. Maybe someday an auto-locker in the rear... It currently has an ARB in the front, but I plan on moving that over to the 40 (long story).

Rainy day in the shop and I'm going to attempt to make a fuel line. Here are the pieces that make up one connection. When I'm done fitting it along the frame, it gets bolted down, as will the brake line, with these. Lil' John used these and I'm following, it seems to be a good, clean method.

37 degree double flare with this tool, easy

I'm useing the Gravel Guard on the fuel line, as well as the brake lines. It's stainless steel and protects from any rocks thrown up. I had a electric fuel pump get knocked out with a rock, years ago.

I have that kind of luck!

Pablo,

sounds like you just need it for airing up tires. Delancy's tank might be the way to go for you. I'm not worried about the noise, it won't run very much. I don't believe you would need a heat shield on the air line, unless you plan on grabbing it.
