The body mounts and lift blocks, were in the mailbox, today. So, thought I'd see how they fit. They didn't, seems everybody sells the same mount kit and they are a generic shape. A couple good write ups by Desertlake and Guppie, got me started. If anybody is going to put new mounts on, you'll have to modify the poly alittle. Remember to cut down the steel tube also, so the weight is on the poly. Here's a link, https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj55-iron-pig-preservation-society/220890-74-pig-build-4.html In my pictures the one on the left is stock and here's what I had to do, to make them work. Four frame holes are the same with a lip on it and four are flat. Then you have the front two, smaller ones. You'll see, when you start , Good Luck.

Your garage is awsome! I am thinking about getting a body and beginning a process kinda like yours. I can only aspire to do work like you. I was wondering if when on the rotisseri what is the hightest point when you turned the cab. My garage does not have the hieght like yours. So I am wondering if I could even fit it in my garage to work on it.

So stoked by your thread!!!

Ron, where did you buy your body mounts?

Thanks Bob

Xtiaan,

Thanks for the compliments, sorry I already took the body off. It was higher than it needed to be. I've seen guys have them in eight foot garages. Mine was able to swing 360 degrees.

Hey Bob,

I got the mounts and lift blocks at 4crawler offroad [ roger Brown ]. I think Specter Off Road sells the same mounts. Neither one makes them, they buy wholesale. Everyone of the mounts had to be worked on, to make it work. No big deal, but alot of money, not to be right.

Ron

Ron, got mine from Specter. Made by Daystar didnt get many installed but no mods!

Thanks Bob.

Bob,

Did your mounts look like mine with rim on the one side and were all of them the same, except the front two. The body mounts on my 71 frame are three different styles. Four with a downward rim, four flat ones and the two small front ones.

Interesting!

I got the body mounts all figured out and started lowering the body onto the frame. I needed to go slow as I'm by myself and last time, I used a front end loader, which got a little squirrelly.

Test fit the brake booster and clutch master, it all fit, but was tight.

'95 T100 Brake Master Cylinder
'98 Tacoma Brake Booster
'73 Aisin Clutch Master Cylinder

Won't be long and I can get some wheels and tires :)

Cool!

Is that brake master for disc/drum?

man those mounts bushings look fat....are they body lift bushings? I'm going to send you my 77 wagon body when you finish up on yours:p awesome work

Lambcrusher,

Good eye, I have a one inch lift block, on top of the body mounts. Need alittle extra height, for the Vortec.

I don't know, I've got an extra 69, thought you could make me a pickup! :)

Spent the day, lining up the body bolts and trying to get the doghouse mounted. I thought at first, I screwed up my placement of the Ford shock mounts, but after two beers, everything worked out .

Two of the body bolts, didn't want to go in straight, still need to massage them alittle. You guys welding in your own mounts, really need to be careful.

Hi Osage,

Good hearing from you and thanks, but yeah, I'm not catching up with anybody. My Wife is worried, we'll be too old to drive it. :)

Post up some pictures!
