Has anyone ever tried to install the rear sliding windows from an FZJ80 to a FZ100?

they are very different shapes, it would require a good bit of fab work.

since you said fzj100 and your user name is state legal, do you have a 100 series with IFS and 4.5 inline 6??

Woah woah woah! Whos 100 is that a picture of? Do they have a build page. It looks clean.

Second that. Looks amazingly well built, details details.

I've been wondering about the same thing.. Sliding windows would be handy for dogs and such...

I have been thinking about moving from and 80 series to a 100 series and have been wondering this very thing. I open my sliding windows about every time I drive the 80. My dogs ride with me and they hang there head out about the whole time. Has there been any updated info if rear sliding windows are available for the 100 series Cruisers?

The aftermarket pop open/up windows are nice for access but not so much for driving down the road.

I will probably hang on to the old 80 but a few things with the 100 are holding me back from making the jump.

Thanks.

No sliding windows for 100 series trucks and an 80 series window wont fit. Best option is a gullwing type flip-out window if you are set on it and they are pricey coming from AUS. 100/105 Series Land Cruiser

@Southeast Overland has something like that for the FJ cruiser, I wonder if there is a 100 series option?

I have spent some time over on the van section of expedition portal. There are several options for buying sliding windows and cutting a hole in the sheet metal to install them; I wonder if thats the most reasonable approach for retro fitting a 100. Replace the OEM window with sheet metal then find an appropriately sized slider to drop in.

Okay, thanks for the response.

Those are the pop up ones I was referring to. No way I would pay anywhere near that much for those flip up windows. They are real nice but not much use driving down the road. Stick out a bit much for that for me. Maybe if they were also easily fully removable.

Ah, good to know. I have wondered about that myself.

My 80 is rusting a bit on the lower doors and rear quarters. The windows are hard to roll up and down as typical to those. Coming off track etc. I thought I may move to a 100 series for better towing and take the 80's doors off and cut the back top off and use it on the farm and trails. That would also give me the rear sliding windows to retro fit in the 100 somehow. If the 80's sliding window is smaller and you could make an insert the same size as replacement rear glass for the 100 series. Then, as you say, cut an opening in the insert and attach the 80's window to that.

Anyone have any updates/new products for something like this? I miss the sliding rear window of my old 80, well I guess my dog misses it really. :D

Guys. Is this a 100 with sliding rear windows??

Looks like it to me. I would like to convert to sliding rear windows.

I'd want it the other way around - getting to the sliding windows is annoying in the 80. It would be awesome to just have the luxury of a motor to do my dirty work for me

That is an 80 with 100 series tail lights grafted in.

Honestly, I didn't even notice until you mentioned. From that angle they look nearly identical otherwise.

I like the power cargo area windows for ejecting dog farts from the truck. He sits in the back seat because it's a seat and I put cargo in the cargo area. The back seat windows are super easy to roll down from the driver's. Would also be very interested in a reasonably priced gull-wing set up as posted earlier, but then I'd just be stuck with the dog farts when it rains.
