Slept in the back of mine two weeks ago during a camping trip- No third row, just folded down the 2nd row and placed a large sleeping mat down. Slept fine with one other person although she is pretty short, definitely wasnt bad at all but I had a few drinks to help out

I am new to the 120 family based out of Draper, UT. I have a 2005 Blizzard Pearl GX470. I took my vehicle out to the west desert of Utah this past weekend with a group of Boy Scouts. I opted to try sleeping in my vehicle instead of on the ground. I did pack my tent and pad in case I needed to go to the ground.

Does the tailgate close with your setup? Can you also share brand of your air mattress. I am thinking of intex downy which is queen size. Want it to fit perfectly.

I sleep in the back of mine a lot. I have a box build that is about the same hight as the rear seat folded over. I move the drivers seat up a bit and use heavy rubber pads so I don't feel the child seat bolt. I also made a inside door pull for the rear door. I am 6'2"

I have a box that is the same hight as the seat folded over and the I have this 1/8" heavy rubber and then the mats, I added the door opener which lets me get out from the back. I move the drivers seat forward and it gives me enough room to lay out. I move the dog bed to the right rear seat

Thanks! I guess a twin air mattress over the rear area with a small ply to fill the gap between the jump seats dropped down should work great!

I tried various versions of this and gave up when I went to a dedicated drawer system, fridge, etc. So I had this built instead. Was shockingly affordable (that is the builders Nissan).

I love my home made M416 trailer and I will rebuild the box this year to accept a RTT, but there are times you just can't or don't want to take a trailer and that is the reason I am building the inside to sleep one and a dog and still carry what I want.

Next steps is the removal of rear seats and custom build storage areas to hold stuff. Seats will be in until I need to pull them and put in the storage boxes.

No immediate access to my rig for a few days, curious if folks think this cot would work for sleeping in the back. I was eyeballing that cot last year but forgot about it until seeing this thread again.

I folded the 2nd and 3rd rows flat and extended the head rests to the last locked position, moved the front seats as far forward as they would go and then inflated a queen sized air mattress on top. I did put my tent which was still rolled up under the mattress between rows 2-3 for a little extra support. I was worried that I would feel the seats underneath or that the mattress would sag down into the gaps between the seats (I'm a big guy 6'1" 250lb) I slept with my head up by the passenger seat and was very comfortable all night, albeit a little cold, the temp dropped to 27 degrees. I attached a photo of the setup. There was ample room for me to roll from side to side without banging into the roof or feeling claustrophobic.

I was pleased with the results and can't wait to get out again, this time with my 8 and 6 y.o. boys.

How'd you manage to fit a queen size air mattress in the gx470? By my measurements a queen mattress would be too long to fit. Can anyone else confirm that you can fit a queen mattress?

I fit a twin xl 6” foam mattress in the back bit I s right lengthwise.

Its not a lot of room. I am 5'11 and sleep in mine. Dobinson's drawers with a DIY sheet of plywood attached that basically rests on the folded down seats. I have to push front seats really far forward to fit my therma-rest. I think it's 76" long? 4.5" thick. Works well if you are rolling solo. Way comfier than ground sleeping. Also way cheaper, comfier and more practical than a RTT.

Slept in the back of mine with my fiancee for one night while stargazing. 3rd row out, 2nd row folded and lots of pillows/blankets. It was not bad at all for one night. I'm about 5 11ish 185lbs.

Our GX Basecamp platform and drawer builds create a pretty nice sleep surface in the back...
