Hello gyus, new owner of a GX470 2005. Yesterday I changed the air filter and noticed an unattached cable with two plugs. The other end goes in a black box glued to the back of the box where the air filter is. Does anyone knows what this is for or what is it? Not sure but it looks OEM.

Looks like aftermarket air injection bypass. It plug to MAF sensir. Might be abandoned for some reason.

Air injection failure usually cause the engine to go to limp mode.

Hello, this is correct. I found it - "Gen 1: Secondary Air Injection System Bypass Kit (Plug & Play)"
Obviously the previous owner install it "just in case". Time will show. Thank you for the help.

Yeah SAIS Bypass. I installed one a few months ago. I dont care if the cat takes a little longer to warm up. I dont need the truck not running because of some stupid auxillary system. Looks like the control wire that goes to a relay in the fuse box has been removed from yours though.
