I searched and didn’t really see a thread on this.

After decades of using cheap presses I finally got one I am not ashamed of.

Also got this recently, lifetime warranty makes it worth it to me.

Had one of these over ten years ago, absolutely loved it for chassis work. It works well on the fab bench too.

Bought a finger nail sander as we call it about five years ago. Really like these for fab so recently bought this one too.

Here's my "little" press-

1948 Lempco 60 ton. It'll do 80 tons before the frame creaks. I do a lot of repairs to BIG logging machines like yarders and processors.

Here's my big presses-

The Bliss on the left is 300 tons with 9" stroke. It was made in 1925. It's 15' tall and weighs 42,000 lbs. The bull gear is 6' diameter. The little guy next to it is a 1980 C45 Bliss. It weighs 8500 lbs and it just wrapped up a stamping job for Intel clean room parts.

Here's my latest tool-

I've been looking for one of these on the West Coast for 5 years. This is a Facing head for my 4" HBM. It's a 27" Lucas with auto feed. I had to pay a small fortune for it and it was rusted up solid from sitting outside since the mid 1980's. I was able to get it completely apart without breaking anything. I had a company that specializes is car stripping clean all the parts like new. I'm waiting for the bearings to show up then I can Assemble it and put it to work for the first time in 40 years.

Here's a before picture. This is after a few hours of work to get inside it and make sure nothing was broken.

I go through a lot of tires and do a lot of repairs This makes busting them a whole bunch easier. Been using bars forever.

I'd be lost without forklifts. Most useful machine ever invented.

This is my 1967 Hyster H80C. She was headed off for scrap when I saved her. "The transmission went out" they said. Actually just the return spring broke on the inching pedal.

Here she is lifting a 12,500 lb CNC lathe at a 36" load center.

Here she is unloading the 8500 lb Bliss I showed above.

Here's my little 3500lb Komatsu. This forklift has been a super champ. When I built my shop I had to set all the trusses and bridge crane beams 26' up. My Komatsu only goes up 15'. I didn't have a crane or a telehandler. So I built this 11' extension. I welded a lifting socket to the tallest point on the trusses or beams. Then I'd pick the trusses or beams and hook them up high on the building columns. Then I'd pick up the 11' extension (nicknamed the Narwhal), Then I'd pick up the truss or beam with the Narwhal and set it in place. It did the job!

You can buy the same vice from Wilton directly and still get the lifetime warranty and save a little $$$$.


But Wilton doesn't take $50 payments a week interest free..... for the rest of your life

Just changing the dies risks personal ruination from the weight!
