Man, after reading so many opinions on paint I just had to throw this out.My 1973 freeporn red with original paint took a hell of a beating. I would beat the crap out of it ,and in western Massachusetts and new england in general our 40's took a beating from branches and mud and I'd take an afternoon and wash/simoniz and man my truck would look fantastic and would get compliments galore.
I now am alot older and can't imagine the pretty paint I've applied to ever be able to withstand my original paint job. And trust me when I say simoniz,it was not an easy wax!

Wow, that was a while back! 532 Yellow and a clear coat from PPG. The speedliner is holding up really well too.

What type of paint is this, how has it held up and what sort of prep did you do? My wife and I are building a bj40 and we're almost to the paint stage and I'm voting for satin grey.

This was the paint as we got it.

I did the Rust-Oleum Flat Khaki. It's been a few years now. I didn't put on a sealer coat. The plan was temporary until I could get a new tub and do it right... Still haven't got there yet! Kids got in the "financial" way! LoL. It has faded quite a bit.

Great thread. Sorry I didn't see it earlier.

Hot rod black single stage. The body is semi-gloss but out of the same can the hood came out flat. The shop asked if I wanted it sprayed again to match and I said No, I love the look. Found a rattle can from Dupli Color that matches so the touch-ups as somewhat easy.
