After looking through pics of restored 40s, I'm thinking I wanna paint mine in a flat finish paint color. The glossy paint jobs just look too shiny for me on these trucks. I'd love to see yours that are painted with a flat or matte finish.

I was thinking of doing mine in flat black or gunmetal grey with gloss black wheels and accessories. But, I also love the dark burnt orange or almost copper color and have always wanted to paint a truck like that. Post some pics if you have anything like that please.

Here's mine now. I've only owned it for a couple weeks, but the Dune Beige is kinda growing on me...

IMO beige dune in semigloss. With a bit of dust it'll like it's supposed to,and it'll grow on you.

Unfortunately I'm glossy RED... :)

However it hit me one day driving down the street I should have gone flat black - don't know why. Looking at the pics, beige looks pretty great.

Would love to see the gunmetal though.

I'm digging these pictures. There's some great looking 40s here so far. Gives me some ideas for mine.
Some of those rattle can jobs look pretty good. Keep them coming please!

My 68 with Dune beige single stage paint with a flattening agent. It didn't flatten like I thought it would but really happy now. The day I pulled out of shop

Not wanting to jack this thread but have to ask misterpepper what your thoughts or reasons are for being agianst base + flat clear.
Getting ready to paint myself in the next few months and had intended on using dupont chroma with a matte clear. Just interested. Thanks

Rustoleum Painters Touch rattlecan job. Color is "Fossil" and it's pretty close to Dune Beige, only flatter. Turned out pretty good. I'd recommend against a base + flat clear paint job.

I like the khaki and cammo greens. Looks pretty sweet. If I go with the khaki, I won't have to paint my dash! lol Thanks for the pics. There's some cool looking rigs on here. I keep getting ideas for mine.
