Mounted the tires this evening and super impressed with them so far. Sorry for the terribly lit, gas station pics.

Man that's a nice setup ! You got me jacked to get my rig set up !!!

Thanks! That's one of my favorite pics. Take your time and enjoy the building process.

I think this thread should be a pic thread and then a list of what guys did and didn't do to fit them.

I'm curious if spacers are always needed, gears, body lifts etc.

I have minimal lift on my truck. Stock torsion bars up front cranked up and OME 865s out back with trim packers. No wheel spacers and stock gears.

I do have a set of OME torsion bars and 864 rear springs on order to support the heavy bumpers (slee rear coming next week). That being said I'm not planning to go much higher as it drives well now and there's no rubbing at this height. Measuring from the bottom of the dust cap to fender I'm at 22".

Hope that helps!

For me, Body lift (home made, 1", way easy to do, just time consuming), OME medium package from Slee, Spidertrax spacers from Slee, SPC UCAs, YellowBox and some spring spacers. No rubbing at this point obviously, but I'm about to start removing things to see what I can get away with. First to go will be the spring spacers.

As far gears, I just drove through most of CO, and SD off road and on and did not notice any power issues. Maybe my expectations are properly managed, but I don't get the prevailing, "you need to regear" stance.

So in your opinion do you think a true 35x12.5 tire would fit on your rig? Going off tire size.com it shows its close, really close to a true 35.

I am wanting 35s but everyone basically says you can't do it or more so it's not worth it but everyone goes just shy of 35". Like your setup. I would prefer true 35s a lot do to availability of tires and I'd go with a 17" rim as wheel which makes it that much easier.

imho, it totally depends on how much trimming you're ok with. Since I'm pretty much comfortable with any amount, yes. Your mileage may vary. I don't know that there's anything magic about the 35 number. I just wanted as large as would fit without major cutting/expense that I don't have time for at present, at that was readily available with my stock rims. Also, it depends on your style of driving. I drive like a grandma. Some of these guys jump their 100s and fully stuff and turn regularly. I think that's where most of the rub/not rub variance comes from.

That makes sense. I tend to throw caution out the window so I may just try it and see where it gets me. If it doesn't work out I could always sell them and take a small loss. I'd imagine they'd sell faulty fast since they are what jeeps run all the time.

I'm not sure about the trimming part. I'm ok with some trimming but not too much. I tend to drive like a grandma also. I really don't like going crazy on obstacles. I like a slow controlled line. Plus I'll be buying wheels also so I'll still have my stockers to put on in between trying to make the 35s fit.

I have run 315/75r16 (35/12.5)
And now am running 285/75r18 (35x11.2). I am much happier with the fit and drivability of the 285! I am at 2" over stock and get no rubbing with the 285s and a pinch weld trim.

The 315s didn't rub that bad at all
But would get the outer edge of the front fender at full compression.
I like the tall narrow tire more in everything but deep snow and sand, this is where a wider tire would be better but the difference is minimal.

That's the size I was looking at originally but it seems so close to the 35s so thought well it opens the door for many more tire options. Do you know if the 315s had any room on the inside today e adjust the back spacing a bit to alleviate the fender rub some. I wonder also if a fender flare like this would help also.

The issue is in the front, when you lift it the track width narrows so with more back space you will rub on the frame when turning,
Now you add less back space or spacers to bring the track width back out and you hit the fender at full compression, when the tire compresses the track width widens so the tire no longer tucks inside the fender like it should.

IMHO the 285/75r18 is the sweet spot for 35s on a 100! And fwiw I am very happy with the Toyo rt
On and offroad. This was my only reason for going with the 18" rim, so I could run this size tire.

The fender flares would not help unless they were cutout flares.
