Got my engine all apart and working on painting and powdercoating, and need a picture of the engine bay of a supercharged 1fz to get a color plan.
Anyone?

here is where parts look today.

A little dirty but only pic I have with me. Let me know if you want a particular shot/angle. Lots of pics to steal off sc install threads. Or first toys's IC thread.

Very good. Yes, that is one image that is perfect. Mine were all so dark before I took it all apart.

Also looking for a pic more down in front to see timing cover.

Actually, that gave me an idea. maybe the FSM has a good drawing.

Awesome. Thanks all for the pics.

Ok, I started drawing this up.

leave the supercharger and the plenum bolted to it the same color. Nothing to the throttle body either.

Thinking about going with the powdercoating green (see color below, bottom right color) (it is on a 40th sage rig). Coating the intake manifold, upper and lower, valve cover, air cleaner (confirmed after seeing NLXTCY color on it), the supercharger air chamber that connects to the intake plenum. aluminum parts where water coming in and out including thermostat. Also the motor mounts green.

Block black, lower oil pan black, black on the spark plug covers.

Can't decide on the timing cover, head, upper oil pan.

Thoughts.

There is adhesive on the air canister that doesn't not make it a good candidate for powder coating. Mine is covered in gold heat tape that is about 4" wide.

hmmm.... must be referring to the gasket under the rim. I thought that was just rubber.

Will have to look.

If not, I could just paint it too.

More to it than that. If you take a close look you will see the adhesive used between the pieces.

Oh, that makes sense. Engine paint then maybe.

You say Tomato, I say Tomato.

Actually, I am dropping lots of time and money replacing a bad motor (run out of oil by PO's wife) with a fresh rebuilt engine, and am willing to take the extra few hours of time to make it look nice.

I keep thinking of Trollhole's big gay 2f build and respect what he did, just want to drop the "gay" part. I just want it to look nice when I pop the hood.
