But the OEM FJ Cruiser steel wheels are used on 80's some, maybe that is what OP is talking about

Fj cruiser wheels “fit” with no spacers. They will sit further under the fender wells than OEM wheels and rub the body inside the rear fender opening when really stuffed. Most folks run spacers because of this.

Spacers? Wheel well modifications? Bump stops?

no, no, and no.
As mentioned they are 5.5 bs vs stock 4.5.
The previous sets I ran 2007-10 (iroks and coopers) fit much better and lightly rubbed the rear frame rail and fender liner but I attribute that to the 4” Slee coils being newer and taller at the time.

back on 315s for now but plan a 1” spacer and bump drop in the rear if I keep the 37s.

I just bought some aftermarket ones from RoadReady. OEM specs. I already have the 1.5” spacers behind the stock alloys. Waiting until my 315’s wear out, then I’ll move to the 17” wheel and go 37’s. Just more options with the 17” rather than one option (trepadors).

Awesome looking rig
Where does everyone get the steelies?

Ive grabbed 3 sets off craigs list for 2-250 each. They are 50-125 ea through car-part usually
