I just went back and reviewed the trails I've used the LX450 on over the past 3-years. Almost none (compared to the 100). Almost all trips were through the Gap which I'm totally tired of! A couple on Sutherland. One or two others.

Ya, this thing need to go. I don't need to keep an 80 around for the Gap when a 100 does the Step just as easily. Gonna sell.

Was the body damage repaired?

Ya. You know me when it comes to bling. Can't live with those scrapes. Killer reason to rip off the flares. Luv the non-flare look.

Everyone wants? Be realistic. This rig is built for the wheeler. A wheeler will pinstripe their ride the first time out.

I sold my pinstriped '93 instantly with 185K miles....to a wheeler.

Tell you what...go find a non-pinstriped low-mile (mine is only 132K) late model stock 80. Pay your $8K and then go put $10-14K in it to build it to the max. That's 18-22K total and the new buyer has to go through all the work to build it up. This ones complete and that's the reason my '93 sold ASAP and so would this LX when I eBay it.

Dont waste your time on EBay only one LX or LC has sold for over 10K in the last few months and it was a low mileage 87K , locked, 40th, stock, never wheeled, garaged, one owner in prefect condition.

It was a HUGE mistake for us to sell the '93 (which I hated due to cloth and non-adjustable seats) and turn around and buy another 80. HUGE! I should have bought another new or lightly used 100, swapped bits from my 2001 to the new 100 and then beat the BEEP out of my 2001, cut it's frames, fab bumps, etc.

I believe you bought the LX450 before you sold the '93, unless you have another 80 other than the LX450.

crack kills

Correct

John, I found one for you in California. Its only $17.5K!

1996 CUSTOM Toyota Land Cruiser

but it does have a Ham radio....

That's a step back! :D

Howdy! I was thinkin I had heard he did have it (the 80) up for sale, but that may of been someone else. John

Nope...Walt won't et his 80 go. He wants to keep his 100 pristine for a while.

My LX450 is for sale...kind of...I have to decide how much I'm willing to let it go for. I bought it for $12,200 and have about $14K in mods in it.

Whatever the market will bear, and as Phil has correctly stated, the higher gas gets, the less value there is in a sub-12 MPG rig. Regardless of how much you have sunk in to it on mods. The way of the world.

Yep. Agree. It's all about what's in my head. :D

When I think about how badly I want another 100, I can't stand to still have the LX.

Then when I realize I won't sell the LX for a great loss then I'm happy that I have it and realize it will last me my lifetime.

Yup. Keep it. Don't be like that dumbass that traded in his super-clean 94 FZJ80 for a 2008 Tundra. :bang::bang::bang::rolleyes:

John, what is your intended use for the new rig? You have mentioned, replacing the Mini, light towing, cross the country highway travel, etc. If I didn't wheel the '80, I wouldn't own it. From what you have said, it doesn't sound like a good match for an '80, a Taco/Tundra or Runner/Sequoia would be a better match for the use, much more common to find, more economical to keep?

My guess; if you get a well setup '80, the piggy is going to sit. The '80 will out wheel it and do it much more comfortably. Then you will start silly thoughts/talk, like about going to Moab and s***!:o
