Looking for a security system for my 87 60. Finishing things up on the restoration and want something robust: GPS, etc.. Like a dash cam too.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Paul Benson

There is a good thread somewhere here that has lots of suggestions. Good luck finding it though. It'll take some time digging (searching). Try searching through Google instead of this abominable search engine built into this site. Just enter a search term (in Google) skip a space, then type :site ih8mud.com

I’m waiting for a forum Vendor to make something like this that is LC series specific.

I have seen something like the 2nd one in Venezuela when I use to go there for work.

The first one is very cool.

Kill switches and LoJack. Putting the T case in neutral will also probably buy you a few minutes

there was is Israeli company that made a pretty slick trany lock......might be the one a few post above

when I got my 86 in 1999 it had a key slot on the front fender, that was part of the 1986 security system the original owner had in. I still get people asking why it has a lock on the fender....

I still have that. I need to figure out how to work it into a fuel cut off switch by turning the lock on/off.

I remember seeing these in Greece in the early 2000’s. I may pickup one and see if I get something that fits the truck.

I like this as well These types of security systems where the thief cannot move the shifter or use the pedals are far better than those loud alarms. Plus in remote sections when hiking, does anyone even hear them?

I want a switch that changes when the ignition is keyed the horn sounds.

Mainly for when the car is in the driveway at night. I also hope that it would scare the crap out of anyone trying to get the car going.

Again, all this is to prevent someone from “trying” really hard. If the car is dragged onto a rollback, I think a separately wired GPS signal is the only thing that might help.
