I'll be selling my 100 series (2001 LX with 211k) if anyone is interested. But overall, I'm relatively new to wheeling and would love to find a crew to start out with so I can be safe and have some fun! Bonus points if y'all have recommendations for 'warm-up' trails I can take the family on for scenic camping spots in the Cascades or ONP.

We did the first three sections of the WABDR last summer. if you do the bypass routes it is pretty mellow with the exception of the washout on section 3 before Wenatchee. Also I plan on bringing the fam next time we do Tahuya. I want to have my wife drive a little to make her more comfortable.

WOW congrats on the rig, that's the LX570 BEASTS truck on 37's right? or did I click on the wrong link? Anyway Tahuya in that truck would be a blast for ya! Now that spring is coming we should try to get a little group run going! I have an LX470 also, classic rigs, maybe just keep it

Hi all. Spoke with the fam and any day (or days) works good for me. @tbisaacs - Friday the 9th is totally a go if that works. I am also up for other days if anybody is interested but can't make that day. We will probably choose one day to hit up Seattle for the kids, but the rest of the time we want to do things that don't involve pavement

We are game for anything; running some forest service roads, Capital SF, Tahuya, or something over west of the Sound. As long as we can drive the truck home on the 10th and as long as I am not leading, I'm happy to get out and play.

I did the WABDR in 24 hours (...and 39 minutes) a couple of years ago with a buddy on Yamaha WR250R's, but I haven't yet done the whole thing in a truck. We were aiming for a single day completion (midnight to midnight) for no other reason that we didn't know if anyone had ever done it, but a couple of mishaps along the way made us miss the target!

I did the first two sections in a single pretty easy day in my Tundra two years ago...did you take your time and enjoy the scenery?

@tbisaacs and @1world1love I can probably swing something on that Friday, just keep in touch as we get closer. If you end up wanting to do anything much more than mild trails, I might skip, simply b/c I don't have sliders installed yet...otherwise it would be great to see a couple rigs that are more built out than mine.

Yep - still working on logistics. Grandparents all just got vaccinated and are heading into town after a year - trying to get it all sorted!

Yeah, no worries if it doesn't work out. Call me old fashioned but seeing family should (almost) always take precedence over hanging out with some stranger from the internet

I didn’t find a bypass, though of course there are paved roads around from Wenatchee to Ellensburg.

Wow, that is crazy one day! You must have been exhausted!

Yes it was a family trip. My wife's, our 5 y/o, and our friends first exposure to trail rides. Plus we were pulling a trailer so had to take it a little slower and did the bypasses on Bethel Ridge and another. I took her through the washout section on 3 and she was over it. I wanna take her to Tahuya and let her drive a bit so maybe she will be more comfortable.

How long since you have ran it?

I would say as a solo newb and not having a spotter it was a little dicey. It wasn't as bad as people made it out to be but it wasn't a walk in the park. People told mr to park my trailer and go look to see if I felt comfortable. I decided to send it and came out the other side. Defiantly got the adrenalin going. Would be way worse when wet forsure.

Pretty sure this is/was the bosses truck at ARB in Auburn. I think it went for sale last year? But my memory is mushy lol. Saw it in person when i picked up my ARB skids from them in person last year.



EDIT: juuuuust kidding as this is an LX and i didnt look close enough lol. It is an excellent looking rig though.

Would've been very interesting if it was the boss at ARB's truck. IronMan front bumper, Slee sliders, and most likely a Slee bumper. Good way to promote ARB business haha

Yeah I read the actual post and then saw the grille. His was almost identical just an LC with all the ARB goodies.

Hey PNW folk. We are here in the area and enjoying ourselves immensely. We woke up late today so decided to make It our town day. @grinchy - we took your advice and took the Bremerton-Seattle ferry. It was a great idea and worked out well for our first day. We took the kids to Holy Cow Vinyl shop in the public market where somehow my family managed to drop a couple hundred bucks without even trying. And they call my hobbies expensive

So anyways, the family wants to drive over to the Ranier area and I am wondering if there are any good trails or FS roads over there with good views (assuming we get lucky and it is not covered in clouds). Or dirt roads to waterfalls? Mainly we want to go towards RNP, but I’d like to get off pavement.

Awesome! Thanks. We are going to run some roads in ONF today to check out some waterfalls. Trying to decide if Sol Duc falls is worth the three hour drive or if e should stick closer tot his side. it seems like there are quite a few falls closer to us. We will head over there to RNP tomorrow.
