I have been waiting for these in 17". I currently run pro comp steelies in 17x9 with 4" BS. I was very particular and ordered the
size that I thought was perfect. The sizing is perfect.
I have Toyo 285/75R17 MT's now.
With the 4" BS they are 1/2" clear from rubbing on OME heavy springs, even under load and full turning I've never rubbed the springs.
I've looked, and there is no polishing on the springs ever.
I'd take a chance on these, but timing now is I can't look at getting them until late autumn. ( 6 week trip to Yukon/new FF w ARB/new RTT, etc)
I'm not sure why SCSPerformance won't create a more friendly BS for 40's, 60's or 70's as they are targeting 16" and 17" sizes. In order
to get into an 'E' rated tire, I have to buy a 17" wheel. There is only one version available in 16" F5 wheel that is a complete fit with 3.5" BS.
If the BS was an even 4" I think they would be an easy fit. I would prefer 3.5" BS, with either an 8" or 10", or 8.5" or 9.5" width for the
guys wanting 305 or 315 width metric sizes.
Blah, Blah, I did have a question: My terminology is blank, but what is the depth of metal from base of lug to back of the wheel? I can get
1/4" plate spacers that would make all the difference. They were on my old '65 FJ45 with the steel wheels on a disc front end. They would eat
up that .30" of extra BS.
But I feel that the F5 is a home run as far as look and style. See post #82 and #88
