Ran in to some issues with the computers that were supplied with the crate engine & transmission package ... in the middle of a global chip shortage. @torfab and his team have been working through the challenges tirelessly and it sounds like we're getting close.

Where we're at:
  1. Engine and transmission are in and running
  2. Cooling, AC and other systems appear to be working
  3. Hasn't had much drive time at the shop yet due to transmission computer challenges

Getting closer! I'm excited for you and the team helping to resolve these issues.

All is back together, injector driver in the ECM was bad and wasn't firing one injector. Apparently GM sent out a whole batch of TCM's without loading a tune on them, and a shop like mine had to find out the hard way. From now on any crate transmission I get will be sent to GM support before install to make sure that TCM serial number isn't on the "bad list". I can't tell you how smooth the engine and transmission work together, it's like a work of art.

@Feldrian I just went through your thread again because I like the info and pictures you provide. It's still astonishing to see the transformation your 80 went through. Getting to the point, you stated the original engine was so bad that it was just junked or something along those lines. Did you actually junk it or do you plan to tear it apart for curiosity's sake?

It's probably in the "dead zone" out behind @torfab shop. Unless it's been scrapped already.

Meanwhile my LS has been on an engine stand for 3 months waiting on a machine shop. Excited for you tho. Getting close.

Torfab tossed it straight in the scrap bin. Apparently it was that bad.

It's back in the driveway and it's a monster. Drove well on the highway, but definitely too thigh with the Dobbies installed. Will be removing spacers this weekend (that I had to install with Icons) and dropping it back down. Now to wire and install the interior and then finally go and enjoy the damn thing.

Congrats! She does like she's going uphill, but who cares......I assume more pics of the engine bay are coming....

Yeah, I'll post some more when I'm not technically "working". lol!!

I think the couple hundred pounds off the front axle made more of a difference than I was expecting. I still have the Icons here in a box if I really need to drop it back down and the inch front and rear isn't enough.

I was putting miles on it all weekend and the weather has sucked so I've been a snowflake and not wanted to stand in the rain and take pics/ video.

I snagged this one inside the garage:

Absolutely zero driveline vibrations as well, which was a pleasant surprise. Sounds amazing. I'll have to see if I can get audio to do it justice.

How was the handling at 103? I feel like that had to be a time for questioning life choices....or maybe you were having too much fun to worry about that haha
