I’ll stuff one of the kids back there to hold it, dog is too valuable….

(I’m about to come up with a solution but needed more beer… shhhh…)
Also, I can totally hear the tone in your voice…

Exactly, like the guy holding the mattress to the roof of his car on the interstate. Great plan..
Here you go Mr Launcher:

We'll have our kids (5 & 8). Should be a dozen plus younger kids. Shelley was looking to do some kid activities for everyone; face painting and making me get into some silly costume and make giant bubbles for the kids.
Shelley here 👋🏼 I was hoping to get families with kids a time to meet up & get acquainted with each other this year. We have been enjoying the Solid Axle Summit since my 8 year old was a baby & this trip is one of the kids most talked about adventures of the year.

Our camp spot is down across from the mining area, we will be in a white 80 with a blue truck trailer. It would be nice to have a meet & greet Monday after day 1 of easy trails down there around 7:30 pm. Bring your kids, I’m hoping to make it a fun family time with some ice breakers, ‘the bubble man’, face paints & Maureen has some crafty tricks up her sleeves too!

Looking forward to meeting (or reacquainting) with you all!

Also, feel free to stop by anytime, Monday is just when I’m hoping to get the majority at once. Klaus will be guiding trails as well, feel free to sign up with him as a trail guide for a day that includes stops for kids to get out & play here & there as well.

Y’all had the blue truck camper last year right? With the old school white topper?

My daughter is 9 & 8/12ths so she might be down for some fun. My son is 13 & 11/12ths so he’s not excited by much.

We will be up on the mining hill with also a blue truck camper contraption.

This is great, thanks Shelley and Klaus! Martha and the girls will be joining me again this year but not until Tuesday afternoon. We’ll look forward to catching up with ya’ll then. We’ll have Betsy (10) and Camille (13).

Is it time to leave for SAS yet? :steer:

I always bring my kids too. This year just my boy, “Brooks 7”. This is our 6th year.

Here she is…. Time it packer’ down!!
Lots of work was done to BIG BETTY so it might be best if @mesa man just posted the list. He did a lot of the work to get us into the San Juans safely.
We are always so anxious to get there and then it will be gone before we know it. Taking it day by day and enjoy each moment is key to this adventure!
Safe travels to all!
We leave on Friday to make the trek up slowly and steadily.

Sweet looking 80!

@Shells Jim (&Karen) here! Our first year was SAS5 and I remember how small your kids were! They’ve grown up so much.

I’ve had a standing invite for my kids to come (now 13 and 17), but the answer every year has always been “eww, no, why would we want to go to that?” And so they choose to spend the week with grandma in Ohio visiting family, hanging out on the boat, going to Cedar Point, etc. Honestly, for a kid, I kind of understand that choice! Maybe one year I can convince at least one of them to come along.
