I was thinking about checking out Moab for a day or two afterwards on our long lazy way home.
I’ve never been but my wife has, and that just seems, well, wrong.
It’s just really hot there in August, especially wheeling. But still beautiful.

If you still have an open spot for Black Bear put me down please as it sounds like my 7x brethren are not doing that one .
Black Bear will likely get run most days, fyi. Keeping the groups small is the main thing. Also, will likely head back through Salida after SAS en route to Boulder and will have an open roof rack on an 80 for the hood if needed. Brent

If you have time I would highly recommend dropping down to Blanding to see Natural Bridges, then House on Fire before heading up to Moab. This should give you plenty of buffer time to meet back up with me in Colorado to run the Holy Cross trail on wed/Thurs.

Thank you for not manipulating me.

Where I come from purple is for sarcasm.
I’ll ask the wife. Not sure when she wants me home, if at all.

Has anyone driven Stoney Pass trail pulling an overland trailer (like a military trailer or a Turtleback trailer)? If so, what is the difficulty rating?

Yes. Make sure that you put things that can’t get wet towards the top as it has been raining quite a bit and I bet that Pole Creek is full. A military trailer with good departure angles is fine for this trail. I believe that ours is a M416.

We are running this trail on Thursday/Friday for an overnight run if you are interested.

Thank you for the informatiom. Very helpful.
How deep is the crossing approximately?

I’ve seen it higher than this, but we haven’t driven through it when it was any deeper. It usually tames down by mid-July.

How high can that water get this time of year?
I was planning on going in that way with my Datsun trailer (see a few posts up) but not into going boating.

It really depends on the weather. It is generally a safe bet that it is passable this time of year. If I have time I’ll hop in the sxs and go have a look one afternoon next week.

Thanks Mike.
