The unwanted male attention is pretty high with the 62, I can’t even imagine the creepers a 40 would draw.

Going from a POS rust bucket Toyota, to a POS shiny Toyota, can confirm. I'm not sure they're gay, but straight would be a stretch. The orange 40 has become a dude lure.

Tell me about it. It usually takes me at least an hour to run a 20-minute errand in the 40. Sometimes I get away with tricking others into believing that it’s not mine and I was just walking past it and stopped to check it out.

Yeap - hard to do when you're pumping fuel into it though . The most recent was a guy in a lifted beater 90's Chevy - was talking my ear off about how he had a handful of Fj40's back in the 80's and how he would get them for $50. Unfortunately he had no parts stashes or whole rigs remaining . A couple weeks earlier it was a young guy who pulled over in a multicolored 2wd mini truck to take pictures of it while my son and I were getting ice cream. He knew exactly what it was and marveling at the headlights being original Koitos when I got back to the truck. Usually it's "what is that thing? It's neat" - most folks have never seen one around here.

My Land Cruiser is in my possession because my dad wouldn’t sell it for $500 in the late 80s after the transmission went out.

I had a guy pull up next to me in a super modified LX470 and said “Nice Jeep!” I replied, “Awesome Ford Explorer!!” We talked for 2 hours.
