Fire extinguisher
Smart to have but not required 😉
I have two in my Rig along with all my other regular gear, including recovery gear, tools, first aid kit, hi lift Jack, spare tire, food, and water chairs in case I’m stranded for a long time and a blanket. I also have GPS navigation.
It’s all so important to make sure your rig is in tiptop shape, especially the steering and brakes.
It’s not a TLCA sanctioned event so no tech inspection.

What are the rules and req’s? Need to make sure I’m covered.
We use GMRS/ FRS capable communications while on the trail. Either a handheld or a hard mount is recommended. Good to be in communication with your trailleader while traveling in a group. Doesn't have to be an expensive setup either.

Thanks for the reminder about this. Signed up for my GMSR license today and am casually shopping units…

We have trained him to locate stinky Diesels. He will go right to Karl !!!! 👀
Hey now. Don't single me out. There's plenty of my oil burning brethren.

I made some calls trying to find a shop that knows what they are doing to see if some tuning can be done. I think there's a bunch of places in the fuel map where the timing needs to be retarded and its not giving adequate time to burn. (At least that's what some reading is telling me)
It won't solve it 100%, but even at my elevation around 1000' it's the smokiest diesel I've owned, and that seems weird to me.

Honestly, some of the rigs that were running rich and burning lube oil were not great to follow either

Awesome, will be looking for it.
