Whats the best product to use in my blast cabnet for small parts,and after blasting what prep needs to be done before primer?

I am a huge fan of Skat Magic Abrasive - TP Tools & Equipment.
It cuts better than #6 glass beads, and I haven't ever needed any more prep for paint, primer or powder coating other than simply blowing it off with air.
It also seems to last longer than glass beads or any of the various slags, oxides and metallic abrasives I've tried. I haven't had anything else in the blast cabinet for probably three or four years now. I've got other abrasives in five gallon buckets right next to it, but they tend to stay there.
The finish is, IMHO, rough enough to get adhesion, but the paint or powder is always rougher than the blasted finish anyway, so it's not a problem.

aluminum oxide is a great media. Fine grit. Prep work should just be maybe 2 coats heavy primer, topcoat 2 component urethane.

We use Starblast by Dupont. It's $5 for 50lb. A lot of shops use it for blasting sheet metal because it does not cause warpage. It lasts quite a while as well and has a very low silica content.
Where can I get the starblast at?
Oh yeah. TP Tools is the shciz. Great quality junk. They send out a fantastic catalogue too.Great link thanks.
I have usually also use aluminum oxide but I have also used black beauty on some more stubborn items
I agree TP Tools is a great outfit. I bought this cabinet over the winter. USA made and a great price!
Now I just got to get motivated and get the right compressor.:whoops:
