Hey all, anyone have experience fixing body rust or rust in this specific area and can help walk me through how I can repair this? I have a welder and I did a simple repair of some rust in this area already with some sheet metal and some screws/silicone to seal up the opening into the body. There is more rust showing on the side though and I want to get rid of it as soon as possible.

That’s been previously repaired obviously and the rust came back. Good luck. The only right way to fix that is to cut away all the bad metal completely and use new sheet metal, then paint and cavity wax on the inner part of the panel. Common land cruiser rust spot.

Ok thank you. Yes I repaired it about 5 months ago but must not have cut away enough material. I appreciate it!
