my hubby Greenfox & FC went for a hike up on the Rubicon on Sunday 6/6.

Here's some pics Ryan took. Not sure exactly where all these are on the trail. (I've only been on the Rubicon twice & don't recall all the landmarks & names-sorry) But I do recall one is Spider Lake & that Ryan said it looked like nobody had made it past the box.

But clearly there is water everywhere & still snow.

Are you talking to/about me?

Tony-

I was referring to you, and it was a joke. I hope you didn't take offense.

The idea that the purpose of reducing the number of participants at Rubithon would increase the odds of winning raffle items for those that were coming was the premise. Rather than the fact that there's a lot of snow and would not be the best experience for those of us who have not been before.

I appreciate all the work you guys do for the TLCA (including the extra phone calls this year) and look forward to making it up next year.

If you did take offense then I apologize.

Have fun and can't wait to see pics!

Run's

Does anyone know if we can pay for the run up there.....I don't want to spend the money till I can see the conditions......

no, just checking! :)

snoopandmike... sure you can pay where ever we end up stopping.

My buddy Glenn was up there last weekend and said once the sun came out on Saturday it was a good time. He said they got to soup bowl and turned back......And they made it up soup bowl for those wondering....see everyone up there...good times:D:wrench:

ummm... how does that gearing in your sig work out for you? 5.38/5.29 seems like you would be binding up a little?

That small of a difference probably wouldn't matter on the trail at trail speeds, but he's not driving it on the street. IMO

The gearing is really close and you do not notice anything on the trail......I got to good of a deal on the fully built third with 5.29's had to just break down and put the 5.38's in the dana 44......

Dave Thomas and Ross Woody

As we are all getting ready for an interesting Rubithon, I want bring to the attention of everyone reading this thread the extraordinairy volunteer effort both Dave Thomas (no, the other Dave Thomas) and Ross Woody have been puting into this years Rubithon.

If you're with them, ask if you can help them... if you see them, be sure to thank them.

I know I'm very appreciative.

Hey folks, I got my first mosquito bite from the Rubicon Trail this year today at Ellis Creek, watch out fo those suckers. We were doing some training for the Forest Service and Cal state OHV guys, bowl is clear of snow and to Ellis is a cakewalk. No report of further up the trail but right now there are approx 10 rigs set up well, wheeling up the trail. John

Thanks for that report John...that's good news. This is going to be a fun trip.
