as Ross notes, 150 to 175 is the sweet spot.

One year we had 250 trucks and while it was profitable, it was too big and hard to manage.
(what I am referring to is crowded trail, tight camping, lots of supplies and materials, lots of work and lots of chaos.)

2005 snow year was small at 110 or there abouts, and this one will be 100 ish or similar.

I'll go out on a limb and state I believe there will be more snow than we currently envision.

Ice House Resort

Ice House Resort:

Last chance for ice, food, beverages, and even fuel I believe...

They have rooms for rent, and shower facilities are available.

You can pay a daily fee to park your tow rig there with confidence. I do. Leave me room.

There is a restaurant and a bar too.

Julie is the young lady who runs the place and is pleasant. Bob also runs the place and is not so pleasant.

Please DO NOT SPEED through the Ice House driveway and parking lot. It really upsets Bob and he lets me know all about it in a not so pleasant way.

Stop in, tell them you're with Rubithon, and get those last minute items.

Tahoe/Caddy side or Loon side?

I don't know I'm envisioning lots of snow! And I'm thinking about the crappy kind of hard packed snow that doesn't break until you are completely in the middle of it. I'm hoping it is less than what I have in my mind, but no matter what we are going and we will have smiles on our faces. I treated myself to some new boots for this occasion :)

Geez, I miss one year of Rubithon and you guys conspire this elaborate web hoax. :rolleyes:

I can hardly believe how many people you've got to go along with the hoax. Getting the Mog Crew jokers to go along would be easy but faking the the NOAA snow sensors was a good one.

Well I'm not buying it.

It was the wagon comment gave it away. Plus, Tony would have called me personally to offer a refund if this were true.

Snow? Ha!
Deep Water? Ha!
Tree wells? Ha!
Cold? Ha!
Mosquitos? Ha!

My WAGON will be packed with sun glasses, shorts, flip flops, sun hat, sun screen and a ARB full of "It's It's" ice cream sandwiches!

I'll probably go in a week early by myself to grab a good camp site before the "70" (cough cough, wink wink) rigs show up.

I'll admit you had me going for a awhile but you'll have to do better. I'm nobody's fool.:clap:

Now carry on boys...
I'll enjoy the banter while I sip my my Tequila and eat my chips and guacamole.

:popcorn:

:cheers:

Hey Jim, should I pack in all of those inner tubes like I did years ago so we can have boat races in the river to cool down? Our camp crew will have the lawn mowed and trimmed after we shovel down to find it. John Pardi AKA firefly

Sounds perfect. Don't forget those cute little pink inflatable "water wings" you wear on your arms.

But, to keep this hoax going you should use code words like:
Inner Tubes => Sleds
Boat Races => Ice Skating
Lawns => Ice Fields
Rivers => Glaciers

Even the "sled dog" is in on it!

as noted earlier Jim... you were the one person who was not offered a refund opportunity... you're going!

A serious question, for once...should I bring tire chains?

God Kings shouldn't need chains!!

There will be enough traffic in front of you, chains won't be needed. They are only any good for breaking trail.

Not that I am aware of Roger. That might have changed this weekend.

Must be some good melt going on, I was swimming yesterday. :) Supposed to be 87 today and warm thru this coming week.

Pighead, no chains are needed if you stick with the event (exit to Loon). If you choose other routes, then yes you should travel prepared.

Error on the side of safety please.

Ross... thanks for taking one for the team!

It's going to be tough to do Rubithon without Ross' tri-tip to look forward to.

What's the trailer for?
