Came back from a trip and noticed loud grinding noise from left front. Took the wheel off and caliper is barely on with just one bolt!
It also looks like some of the pad clips are also missing. Anyone knows what else I am missing by looking at these pics?

I don't really k now what else you're missing because it's like 10 pics of the same angle.

Obviously you will need another bolt to hold the caliper in. On the 80 series, the bolts that hold the tow hooks under the frame are the same thread pitch and can work in a sticky situation. Not sure if that's true for the 100.

Thanks. The tow hook bolts are certainly larger for 100. I was hoping someone could look at csliper clip situation and comment on what's missing there

The brake pad clips are only missing the two cotter pins on the end of the small sliding rod ends. It keeps it from falling back out, other than that the anti vibration clip on the bottom is not on correctly.

Should look like this

I wouldn't sweat that if you're just trying to get off the trail

RTH too gents. Don’t want to create a new thread for this. One of (one of two) my front brake caliper bolts attaching the calipers to the spindle arm fell off. We are here in Harrah’s Casino in Lake Tahoe about to head back to Las Vegas.

Encircled in red is what is missing, caliper mount bolts.

(PFA only, not a land cruiser)

Anyone can give the spec of this bolt? Will head to o’reillys to get one. Thank you in advance.

And here’s a giant thread on the issue:

I believe M12-1.25

Maybe 25mm length. Trying to think of any fasteners on the vehicle that could be pulled in case of trail fix but coming up blank.

Just double checking, but you got the correct grade of bolt, right?
Yes I did. Put it by hand and good thing I brought tools, torqued it to 97ft-lbs.

And I wouldn’t use the split lock washers, they don’t work per NASA and others (see p.9 of .pdf below):
thank you, just a temporary fix for now til we get back home and will replace it with oem bolt part number.

not cotter pins, it is a long piece of wire that goes into both pins with a hook in the center to go thru the eye in the caliper body
you can see it in the pic you poster

Exactly right. Third photo (OP) it is missing from the pins.....plain as day.

Got home safe. Thank you for those who helped. Please everyone that may read this, for your safety and the passengers, check those caliper bolts. Torque them based on FSM. It’s not everyday we can dodge bullets.
