'09 LX. Changing spark plugs for the first time in my life (and probably a first for my LX as well).

I've read the write ups in the FAQ that address the tricky spots on the Passenger Side. However, I can't get the last Driver Side coil out due to some hard lines (cylinder #7 i believe - closest to firewall). I haven't seen this mentioned in any of the other threads. I'm a 2 banana mechanic at best, so I'm not naturally inclined to mess with hard lines without some visual references.

Hmm. I don’t remember that one being an issue? The #8 on the other side sure was though.
Maybe try aiming it down below the HL? Keep at it it’ll come out.

Also. I practiced on the easier to get at coils first, then moved on to the hard ones. To get a feel for their length, how much torque was needed to free the plugs, etc

After tackling #8 on the passenger side, I worked up the courage to push the hard lines down enough to extract the #7 ignition coil. Everything else was gravy.

I thought #8 would be more difficult. I did end up unplugging that massive electrical plug from the firewall. The amazing write ups here are invaluable.

Edit: Adding the two write-ups I that helped me

This makes me wonder whether your motor mounts are healthy. If not the engine can sit lower than intended possibly changing the interference points.

So glad you said this. I started thinking the same thing earlier today. I have intermittent shimmy/vibration issues that I’ve been chasing for a while. Motor mounts haven’t been on my radar til now.

Lots of normal things have checked out fine or been addressed: AHC fluid + globe overhaul, religious tire balancing, new u joints, inspecting ball joints/bushings, etc

I’m caving and taking it to the local Lexus dealer this week to see if they can figure it out. This data point is good to have in hand.
