Lookin beefy

I'm thinking that I'll mount the pancake mount between the flat plate you see in the pics and adapter (plate being on top of tube for flat surface) and then mount another pancake rubber mount below the plate with a large washer between the bolt head and rubber.

THEN below that I'll skin the the bottom of the tube with some of the plastic cutting board stuff I have or some more plate.

I'm still coming up with the plan to support the 205 but have some good ideas.

Did that make sense?

So the tube does not cover the tcase mounts meaning the bolts will not go through the tube. Got it. How thick were you thinking of making your pancakes between the tcase mount and the plate?

this is the general idea:

I'm open for suggestions but I think matching the motor mounts which are about ~1inch on top and bottom.

this is the boat roller material that I'm "slicing" to make rubber "puck/pancake mounts" for those who are following along:

finally broke out my new notcher... what a difference over the piece o'sh*t hf notcher. This notchmaster actually does nice notches the first time. I just barely hit it with my grinder:

That looks great ... I need that on mine too

I need a plasma... and a bender... and a notcher would be nice too.

oh the toys i need.

got a bit done on the crossmember this weekend:

Mounts (idea stolen from boots)

mounted... hangs about 2 inches below the rails. I ended up clocking the 205 2" up from when I started (belly at 25 now). That was the reason for going with the NWF adapter due to its easy clockablity:

Here's the back side and you can see the mount I'm going to use for the 205:

there will be another piece of tube that match the first cross piece that mount to this and have skid running along from the first tube to the second to cover the 205.

Now, I know someone has to be asking about the bolts that looks like rocks are going to eat them... I plan on using this plastic cutting board stuff:

I'll counter sink and grind the plastic down to have smooth transition to cover and protect the bolts without sacrificing too much clearance:

Should have the next tube bent in about 6 months or so. :)

Wow, you got that tucked up there pretty well, good job! Hope there is not too big a difference in the softness from the poly bushings to the rubber ones.

Another chunk of the floor board was lost to clock the 205 higher but I think it'll be worth it. I'm trying to track down some "donut" style poly motor mounts to replace the rubber AA ones. I'll probably get more engine vibes to the cab but at this point I dont think it'll matter. :)

That case is clocked up really high. Looks great!

I've never seen plastic used as a slider for this type of application before. Will the plastic deform / scrape away enough to expose the bolts to rocks? I would think the weight of the truck will dominate the plastic pretty easily.

The plastic is incredibly dense and durable. I anticipate that they'll last for years before needing to be replaced. I also have a ton of it laying around so replacing it won't be a problem.

sick fj60

look forward to seeing the finished product

Brokenparts...
Just wondering WHERE you can get that rubber stuff from?
I might have MULTIPLE uses for that.

I found the boat roller stuff at a local boat store (West Marine). I bet you could find it at trailer and RV places too.

Thanks brotha!
