I think you should leave the leaf mounts up front on and paint them red. They'll look like fangs and obstacles will be scared of you. :p

no way he needs to cut em off clean and send them and the shackles to me :grinpimp:

They are yours man... I'll do my best to get them off clean. Now where did the shackles disappear to? My garage may have eaten those.

Don't remember selling the shackles to me?

lol... that's right!

Haha, that's hilarious. You need your truck back on the road ASAP so you can start cleaning out your garage!

I never ended up using the SR type shackles, so if someone needs those, let me know.

and that would be me

So there is a couple little things on the front end to finish but honestly I just need a break from under there.... This should start coming together Tues night.

the other good news is that my th350c finally sold so this now makes more sense:

th400:

I decided not to be a complete cheap skate on the motor and replace things like the oil pump, water pump, pickup (had to for the new pan), double roller timing chain, etc. so I'm waiting on that stuff to really dig into putting the motor completely together.

I took a couple steps back last night pulling the front half of the doubler off the th350, removing the cooling lines, linkage, and the converter bolts to pull the th350 to make way for the th400. I'll need to pull the 203 adaptor plate back off so I can swap the inputs... what a pain.

Next week I'll be in Detroit for a week and then to Ireland for 10 days for work so progress is going to be hard. Time is always my enemy.

mmmm candy.

whats the "wideband" controller for?

Clint

The wideband 02 sensor and controller works in conjunction with the ecm (EBL ECM in my case) to help monitor air/fuel ratios. A narrow band 02 sensor is what is stock tbi uses and is adequate for stock applications. Because of the increased compression, bigger cam, bigger throttle body, increased fuel pressure, etc. I'll need it to help me "tune" for the motor I'm building. The stock ecm would not be able to handle the new parts without a custom tune or "chip". The EBL ecm that I have does this by logging data that I can later tune in a program called tunerpro and then flash back into the ecm itself. Having someone "burn" you a chip often leaves lots of horsepower on the table and will never be as successful as learning to tune your own junk. Sixty on this forum has been a great resource for me as I'm learning how to "tune".

Just spent the last 2 hrs looking at your build and i gotta say i am very impressed.
Looks like the only thing you haven't changed is the colour!
When i see what you have done i start to think about changing the direction i am going with mine.
However i have been at mine for almost 2 yrs now so i must curb my enthusiasm and stay the course.
Again, great build!

Thanks man... time is my enemy on doing all this. I've been following "some Pics from tonight" as well. Very impressive build too. I loved the cruiser being lifted over the top of the house. :) What would you change on your build? Looks like everything is sitting about perfect!

Other than the title of my build, Axles and suspension, in hindsight i should have gone to coils.
The rear semi float won't be used and that's for sure.
I have a line on a 14 bolt but i would like to build a FF/35 spline 9" i will research that more later on.
Next on my list (while they are available) is a 4.7 crawl box.
Anyways highjack over, i will be following your build with interest from now on and will stash away stolen ideas for the future.

kinda funny you say that... I kinda wish I had done leafs because I'd be done by now. Grass is always greener on the other side.

and feel free to high jack... I commonly do it to myself and even more commonly hi-jack boots "family haulin" thread in the hard-core section.

not a ton to add but I did manage to get in the garage and pulled the radiator so I could get access to the power steering pump that I'm replacing with 1405 PSC pump. Ended up having to cut off the pulley because the puller broke the ears off.

Still waiting for my hydroboost to come back from Vanco so I can plumb the brakes and the steering.

I'm having a real problem with motivation these days.... I really need to hire someone to prod me at night to work on the cruiser. HOHUM....

To make matters worse I bought an vintage Honda motorsport to further distract me.
