Hey there Eli I am glad that I was able to help you out.Like I said if I can give you any help with the electrical just give me a call. Thanks for the feedback on the truck!

Hey there Eli,I made up the console myself out of 3/8" birch.I like working with birch rather than MDF because if it was ever to be exposed to the elements it's not going to swell up and destort. I next wrapped the console in 1/8" topper foam to give it a softer feel and then wrapped it in the same material I used on the doors. The cups are stainless and those were ordered from the local Cobalt boat dealer.I had to go with 3/8" wood because of the width restrictions imposed by the seats.

Yes Eli the high traffic areas and the whole underside of the tub along with the underside of the front fenders were sprayed with a bedliner type coating. The product is made by 3M if I am not mistaken and is tintable. It has good texture and seems to be very durable along with having a gloss finish to it.The advantage to the finish is that being non-porous it cleans up like the exterior of the truck with soap and water.I was worried about it being slippery on the feet but I have had no problems. The colour is slightly off from the rest of the truck but the advantages in terms of durability and sound deadening outweigh the slight colour difference.

I'm in the process of putting an aluminum tub on my '79 right now. Anything tricky about not using the triangle pieces they supplied to cover the gap where the tub meets the cowl?

Awesome ride!

Hi there Eli,the materials for doing all of the paint work were ordered from a local automotive parts supply company here in B.C..The name of the outfit is Lordco Auto Parts,I think they have about 85 locations throughout our province. You should be able to source everything that you need through NAPA or any body shop supply company.

Are you talking about the Aqualu tubs?

I am talking about the Aquala tubs, but it looks like you probably mated yours upto an aluminum cowl so you may not have had the same problems.

On the 1979 and newer cowls you don't have the flange to bolt up to like you do on the 1978 and earlier cowls, that's why the triangular plate comes with the tub.If you could weld a piece of angle on the inside of your cowl to give you something to bolt the new tub up to then you could use some filler to finish off the outside of your seam.I hope that this makes some kind of sense(if only I had some pictures of what I am trying to explain).

Thats the issue that I'm talking about. I've heard others have worked around it but don't recall seeing any good pictures or write ups on it. I've taken the old body off and left an extra 3 inches aft of the door frame until I figure this out. your rig is an ispiration at the least.

Hey there Herky,I wish I had some drawings or some pictures that I could forward to you with a solution to your dilema. Thanks for the comment on the truck.Bob..
