Thanks for the tips Joe_E

Maybe beno will chime in and tell me if it's available or not :D

Either way I need to get one. Who knows what performance or mileage gains I could get from it... :hillbilly:

PS - if that is your distributor it's missing some dirt lol

That dizzy is what is great about MUD classifieds. Used from a western desert state.
I put in a new advancer and signal generator.
My original looked like it was brought up from the Titanic wreckage.:hillbilly:

Driving home the other night about 30-40mph just outside my apartment gate. Engine shut off. Came to a stop in the street. Cranked it up. Ran poorly. Pulled it off the street. It died. Cranked and cranked. Nothing.

Pushed it into a parking spot. The charge and brake light were lit with ignition on. Brake was dimly lit with e-brake disengaged. I searched for that and found alternator/ wiring issues.

Pulled the fuel line off at carb. Put a cup under it. Cranked motor, no fuel. Grabbed my spare pump from my apartment. Installed it. Same thing :bang:

Got a new Kyosan pump through work today. Installed when I got home. Runs again. No dimly lit brake light anymore either.

Engine manual has a section on the fuel pump with some good tips. Doubt y'all can read it though.

Also the pump and the super-swag box

I had my fuel pump go out this summer the day before a trip to the mountains, it started leaking a LOT of gas from the pump onto my axle. Since I had to leave the next day and I noticed it while I was out getting stuff for the trip, I grabbed my fire extinguisher, put it on my lap and carefully drove it to a shop near my house. I wish I didn't have to pay someone to do it...

Darrell that sounds like a crappy situation. How come you couldn't take it on yourself?

Gonna update this thread with some backlogged repairs :hillbilly:

I did the starter rebuild back on December 29th. Two contact kits, and plunger. My contacts were worn out! One of them was worse than the other. Attaching some pics I took while rebuilding it. Before and after essentially. Starter works great now.

Sorry for being so slow to reply, and update this thread. I've got a lot of parts, and things to do, and I ordered more parts yesterday... "bumper ornaments" :D

I'm gonna need to install another part that I've stowed away in the closet before I can get those "bumper ornaments" installed though.

Stay tuned gentlemen

Coming up tomorrow!

An oil change too. Gonna switch to Delo 400LE. Super cheap at my local Walmart. Less than $12/ gallon. Have a WIX 51515 ready as oil filter. Plus a WIX 33204 fuel filter for good measure.

Are the 550FF lenses glass or lexan? I found a set of knock off 4" to put in my new bumper build idea file.. They are a glass lens so, still looking for other lights.

Also, I used 8 gauge wire to link my auxiliary panel and breaker together. You may have a better idea, but it worked just fine for me.

Hey J. These units are "bonded glass lenses" according to Hella.

Why not want a glass lens? Temperature concerns for cold climate?

I've got some 6 gauge for power and 8 for ground. It's what I could find locally, and I'm sure will work fine. Sorry I'm just getting around to installing this breaker :D

Hey J. My lamps are 500FF, don't know if you had a typo or not, but these units are "bonded glass lenses" according to Hella.

No worries on time frame, glad to help.. No, the glass lenses tend to break here due to rocky roads.. My dodge fog lights were glass as well and that is all I did was replace them because of rocks hitting them.

Oh okay. Texas doesn't have many rocks. And when I plan on taking the stone guards off I don't anticipate anyone being in front of me to hit the lights. At night, driving in the middle of nowhere. Lol

So gents I need your thoughts. I just checked my tires. Fronts are 1/8" tread. Rears and spare are 1/16". I found a set of four KM2's in the same size with some light off-road use and 500 miles on them for $550. Discount Tire road hazard on them.

Would you swap over to the MT for that price/ deal? I'd save one of my 33's as spare and keep the other to sell. The other three with 1/16" tread I would let Discount Tire dispose of.

Yeah if your current are old. What's the date on them?

2007. Probably about 44 thousand miles on them. And numerous off-road trips airing down to 15psi.

That means he'll take $450!

I would get those KM2s! Is the road hazard transferable? And cool Hellas, I remember when I had Aux lights... Lol

Hijack ALERT....

P, how do you like your new MTR's ??

OVER..

J

Hijack continuation...

I love my MTRs, I've only got 150 miles or so on them but so far, very nice. Highway noise is minimal, Ga red clays clears out easily, and even with some (alot) of my wheel weights missing the ride is very smooth. But most important of all... They look really cool lol.

OVER

So I changed my oil today. DELO400LE. WIX 51515.

Then hopped on the road for an hour and got these bad boys. $500 for four. With 99% tread.

I'll get them mounted ASAP

Sweet! :bounce2: black wall or white letters out? The more I see white letters out on older rigs I like it, then look at mine and wonder...

White letters visible, it will look great!
