Really liking the white letters out, looks good Kline! I wonder if it's too late to turn my BFG A/Ts around so white letters are out...

Thanks Dan. How many miles are on the A/T's? I 'd say just check the tread near the sidewall and if they are pretty close just do it!

WHITEYS OUT!!

Haha. Friend of mine gave me a recovery strap. Now I need to get one of those receiver shackle thingys. Doing a trail run in late February.

I'm still planning some Aisin carb action. And the Fuel Injection swap. I've got so many Landcruiser parts in my 1100 sq ft apartment it ain't even funny!

And I have to get more :D

It never ends, it never ends...:steer:

So I've been thinking about tire pressure.

I ran 35psi in my 33x10.5x15 AT's on a 15x8 wheel. The centers were worn more than the edges. I did not follow a good rotation pattern. So the tires actually coned a little too. (More tread on the inside than out.)

So with advice from the nice gentleman who mounted my tires I am running 25psi in my Mud-Terrains in the same size (33x10.5x15). I was waiting to see if any of you would say "those tires look low."

The aforementioned gentleman has some Toyo OC MT's in a 33x12.5x15. 40 thousand miles on them and the tread is perfectly consistent across the contact width.

Based on the load of the tire alone it seems like the math makes sense. It is for a max load condition, but I see no reason to run a greater pressure.

At 50psi one tire can hold 2500lbs. So at 25psi we can say 1250lbs per tire. 4 tires x 1250lbs = 5000lbs. My 60 only weighs ~4800lbs.

I should probably just do the tire chalk test I've always heard (and talked) about. If I actually owned chalk I would have done it sooner lol

I just wanted some opinions, and before you flame me the 60 drives well with 25psi in the tires. It does not pull as much on the road when hitting uneven patches and the ride is once again Lexus-like :grinpimp:

Look forward to responses gents!

A, I ran 40psi on the highway/road and that seemed to yield me the best MPG and ride with the 2F and 5 speed... 30-35psi with Marley's weight seemed "floaty". (NOTE** Marley geared out weighed around 6K# pending :princess: or additional passengers) 15-20psi for trail running was perfect (like we did at Jamboree):grinpimp

So your above air matrix , psi/per #tire .... BUSTED THEORY...based on my posted weights....

J (not a Joe either lol) was running 15's.

I'd venture to bet that those tires would have worn in the centers just like mine running the same pressures as me on a narrower rim. Although Marley had a few pounds on me.... Hmm. Too many factors lol.

I think we all just need to keep rotations constant. Run a pressure we are satisfied with. Etc.

I think the chalk test is a good idea, as long as within range, run it.

The thing that worries me about too low of pressures is highway travel and heat build up = blowout?

I have no idea, just spitballing.

Hey Joe,

Was that on 15's or 16's?

Ya, not a Joe... 15"

About 15k miles on those BFGs with no signs of wear. Yes, too many factors... agreed. When you coming up?? :D

J I'll come up there when I have more more fuel efficient power plant under the hood. Which in turn will probably be more reliable. Although we shall see about this 2FE deal when it happens.

I just like taking it slow. It was exciting to get all those parts. But at the same time I have all those parts!

What's next... I might be getting one of those Smittybuilt Receiver Shackles from the :princess: for Valentine's Day (glad someone made that day up)

I have dreams of CB radio. But I honestly need to get my seats repaired first. Or replaced. I dunno lol. They are pretty beat. Got a good upholstery shop in town. They have done two 80 series interiors perfectly so I will trust their work.

No problem.. I have a passenger seat bottom coming to put on the DS seat for now until I figure out if I'm going the FJC seat route or just build up the padding in the stock seats and throw Wet Okoles on them.

I like this CB, its a handheld unit and installs easily. Owned 3 of them with the 4th in the shopping cart for Goss when its time.

This is the one that I will be getting. Lots of people like it and it is portable so I dont have to permenantly fix it to the truck.

That's not a CB radio, that's a 2M and 70cm radio that requires a FCC license (HAM) to transmit.

That said, I have a UV-5R and I LOVE it.

Doh... I am going to blame that on the cold/flu drugs... Swore I read HAM in there.... Hoping to grab my license next month, dont think this weekends test is going to happen.
