very sorry nick. That sucks. Glad you are ok.

When you get the chance post some pics of the damage. It doesn't look too bad in the pictures. Best thing is its an 80 and there are tonnes of parts in the USA for body stuff. Bet you can even get a roof from a wreaking yard. So no worries it all sorts it self out in the end.

Appriciate you posting this as it reminds us that you don't have to be doing serious wheeling to get in to trouble:beer:

I'll second that. If I were in those pics with one of my rigs, I'd like to think I would have your composure Nick. Sorry for your loss of that canoe - looks like it was a cedar-strip work of art...
Glad your OK.
Johnny

I had a similar situation last winter with my 93, and I thought I hadn't lost much fluid, but it ended up taking 6 quarts to get it work. There was only a tiny puddle on the ground, but 6 quarts went somewhere....

Sorry to hear about that though, and I am glas everybody is OK

Dan

that hurts but this will be a great opportunity to get rid of that ugly, heavy 80 series body and build a truely nice cruiser with some of the best cruiser mechanicals ever made :D
I'm thinking 70 series ute but that's just me :grinpimp:

Bad luck Nick. I put my 45 over like that and did the self recovery thing with my winch. At the point you are at now I let the winch out slowly with the wheels turned down hill and slowly let myself coast to level enough ground to keep from rolling. Sorry I can't help with the AT problem.

Although it will be a costly fix, it is a neat experience to walk away unscathed from.

Good Luck

Wow, too many emotions here...

Sad about the dmage to your canoe and Cruiser; I know you take a lot of pride in both.

So relieved that all of you were unharmed.

And, impressed with your attitude regarding this incident.

G'luck with the recovery and restoration, -Steve

X2 on all points. Wish we could all come up and help!

that's rough Nick.
glad to hear that no one got hurt.

good luck on the recovery

I too am glad that you and your party survived and were not injured. I guess that you could call your canoe an airbag. I would make sure that you tow strap your rig to a nearby tree instead of relying on your winch. I have mine let go on me (warn 8274 and the clutch dog froze in the open position while in use). So how does it feel to be "experienced"?

Karl

you might even consider pulling off the rack when you go to finish up the recovery-- its obviously pretty beat up anyway and adds a bit of top weight.

Tough luck.

Nick - Maybe you could hire a flat deck trailer to tow your cruiser back once you are on a main logging road. If BCAA wan't or if the tow truck is going to be mega bucks.

you have a PM from me....

Its super cool that you documented the event like you did. Even cooler that you guys were able to self recover. Lots of '4wheelers' would have sat there and waited for the motor league.

I second the suggestion that the t-case was knocked into N. Might even be a bent linkage.

Sorry to hear about this Nick, I'm just glad the three of you are ok.

Well, I must say that from all kudos and well wishers on this board, you definately left an impact on all of us.

From this very educational "Hands on" experience, you seem to be radically climbing the "Yeah, I've done that" ranks. With the suggestion of acquiring replacement body pannels from the 'States, wouldn't it be nice to have the same option with that once beautiful canoe (I'm sure the next time you go to build a canoe it will get produced faster).

Keep your chin up!

Nick .. soo sad, and for sure I'm sad .. I'm with you dude, in spirit, Glad to say you can tell us the hole history, s*** happens !

Offer it here in mud .. luck someone gonna make an offer to you, and buy it, for you, get the monwy and start again .. no other option.

this was a absolutely nice truck .. and sad to know you spend money in your turbo.

the show must continue .. Thanks to God you have live to continue.
