needed to rework my lowers to match the upper lengths, so I added some square stock

Moved on to the roll cage. I originally reworked the roll cage ealier in the build but after the dovetail of course I had to redo it





cut the back piller off

no bender means I had to get creative



bolted in for the mock up

had to add some height so I sleeved the verticle piler

I think I added 8 inches to piller





sawzall broke had to use a cut off wheel

"Why didn't you just use a fuel cell" I totally agree w/ making the stock tank work no matter how much I have to modify the tank. I'd never give up all my storage & use a fuel cell in the tub The back of the cage in my 40 isn't tied to the frame so it's good to see how others' have done it. I think if I wanted to mod my 40 a little more, a dovetail & raised rear fenders would be top of the list. Lookin real good.

Storage space was the main reason for the mods on the OEM tank. The tank is all done and fits tight and I think I will have about 10-12 gallon capacity but will report back once I know. Tank is lined in and out and should last. I will get pictures this weekend..

The rear hoop was a piece of an old cage that was on its way to the metal recycler before I saved it from the melting pot..

decided to cut off the old leaf spring hangers

just noticed I needed to fix the front panhard bar axle mount so I used some channel as a stiffner

I decided to tie in the roll cage to the frame so I used some old tube and welded to the body scab plate (removable) and poly bushing (removable) at the frame
