It looks like you can get this for a smoking deal online at Walmart for $139. Tried to see if it is a different or old model, but it looks like the new one to me.

Can anyone confirm that this is the latest version?

8.9” is the latest, the original was 8.8”
Looks like they also sell the 8.8” for just $4 less

I ordered the one from Walmart ($149.61 total). It shipped from China and appears to be legit, but I don't have anything to compare it to. The user manual says it is the 8.9" model, but nothing on the box says what model it is. I messed with it a bit in my 100 series and it seems to work fine. I'm waiting for a better mount to put it in my 200.

Edit: Man, this thing eats battery. Drove around for less than an hour and included a 10 minute call and maybe 15 minutes of Apple Maps. Used 40% of my battery life. This was using Bluetooth instead of plugging in the phone.

I also ordered one. My manual and box says it's the 8.8 version. I guess walmart complaint department here I come.

Weird... didn't the older version not have the photo sensor? This one does.

Edit: I guess I am keeping it. Looking at the 2 specs. The 8.8 is 235mm long snd the 8.9 is 224mm long. The one I have is 224mm. Way to mess with the consumer China.

The easiest way to tell is when you power them up, 8.9 doesn’t have a fan, 8.8 does. Also 8.9 boots up in less than 5 sec…

Okay...got it installed. I think with the extended ball adapter, it puts it out at the perfect spot above the dash using the speaker grill dash accessory mount.

I put in a power jack socket to make it look as neat as possible and have 2 waterproof connectors (1 for future use) under speaker so removing the grill in the future is easy. Pics for reference.

Does anyone use this regularly with GAIA or On X?

Has anyone gotten the Road Top 8.9/8.8 to work with OBD Fusion. I was excited to see the OBD Fusion icon when I launched Carplay, but it only displays textual info instead of the cool gauges that I can display on my iPhone.

Here is an example (not my photo)

Just found this on the OBD Fusion app website 🙁

Note that real-time gauges are not supported by CarPlay, so you can't view your OBD Fusion pages such as dashboards on CarPlay.

I was going to say, you are just looking at the CarPlay version. It’s definitely in its infant stages, and most likely hampered by the CarPlay framework.

I like that location best. It brings it closer to reach and it brings it lower not obstructing the view out, while not obstructing the sound from the central speaker.

Question: do you have a link to the horseshoe rail attached to the gril?

For what it’s worth, the Tesla head unit apparently does work with ODB Fusion.
See post 82:

Sure. It is made by a member here.
