I got the latest firmware for the 8.9 Road Top from them, so whoever has that can upgrade to the latest
lutuo-8.9-2025.04.10-v3.0.6:
System software upgrade method:
Use an 8GB USB flash drive, format it as FAT32
1. Unzip the file, copy the software inside to a USB flash drive, and then connect it to the provided USB cable interface.
2. Turn on the car and go to Linux screen settings → System → Software upgrade → Select system upgrade (wait for the USB flash drive to be recognized and confirm √ upgrade).
3. An update progress bar will pop up, and the screen will automatically restart after the upgrade is completed in about 2-3 minutes.
Yea, its much much faster also there was an additional option added in the home screen for SD Card at the bottomAFAIK
Did you notice any changes or improvements?
Correct.i have an 09 LX, pre bluetooth for music. I scrolled the 29 pages and i guess i overlooked but would i utilize the 3.5 mm jack on the unit, fish the wire down and plug it into the aux cord hole on the console? then use my phone and bluetooth to the unit for carplay?
You can get a Bluetooth dongle that has 3.5 mm plug and usb power. It can look pretty sleek. Here’s an example, there are many such things. https://www.amazon.com/Isobel-Bluetooth-Transmitter-Receiver-Headphones/dp/B08DR5R4P5?tag=ihco-20i have an 09 LX, pre bluetooth for music. The L&D Option keeps your center grill but provides a nice track for mounting. Have you seen it? (There are different models for LX/LC/etc)My Roadtop (I've had the 8. and now the 8.9 - both work as advertised) mounting suction cup turned to "goo" from the sun....total beeotch to remove the gunk. anyway, don't want to go that route (suction cup) again. Can anyone advise on a tried/true mounting system? I know of the various devices that replace the center speaker grill, but I only need one "ball connector" for the RT and the mounting gizmos just seem like over kill.
I'm tempted to try a peel and stick like the mounting (small L shaped mount) included w the CarpodGo T3 - see attached.
Has anyone tried this or can suggest another option?
Many thanks!

Thank you; yes, saw those (the "basic version" - no ball) ...still a little "utilitarian" for me...but, may be the only option. I'm hoping one of you guys responds with "yeah, I attached the "fixed console mount" to the dash w 3M and it holds/works really well. The L&D Option keeps your center grill but provides a nice track for mounting. Noone stops you from attaching the console using 3M tape. How long it will last on bumpy roads/trails or what will happen with the dashboard when you remove the tape is all on you. Some people used wire or screws to screw the console to the speaker grill after removing the suction cup or through it.Thank you; yes, saw those (the "basic version" - no ball) ...still a little "utilitarian" for me...but, may be the only option. Good to know, I had a feeling it did. I don't think I've seen any of these which profess to run Android, which is ironic to me because Android is Linux-based.You need a device that runs Android for that. Roadtop runs Linux.
Yup, 100%. Honestly, I'm being lazy...after the "fail" on the suction/windshield mount I'm just trying to quickly sort a solution the first attempt. Given the RT mounting is the only use case, from what I've since learned from you guys, directly mounting/3Ming/gluing the factory supplied suction cup (all the stickness is gone - ooozzed out due to heat) to the grill is prob my best bet.Noone stops you from attaching the console using 3M tape. The ball is not included. That is a pic for illustration. You can buy whatever ball/attachment you want/need from many stores, specific to your application - great flexibility.
I do have the LX version of L&D and it looks good even on the more upscale interior of the LX. People think it's a Lexus accessory because of the quality and fit. I find the design great, it is sturdy and gives you plenty of options for installing this or any other device in the future when you might want to upgrade. I really think that this is the best solution for most of us. For folks having a full rack of radios, etc. three are metal shelves that do look very utilitarian but provide higher load capacity.
Keep in mind that install requires some drilling of the speaker cover. If you think you may change your mind, just order new/buy used cover to install it to.
