It may not seem like it but I'm agreeing with you. You likely did better than an EV would. They'll have a hard time competing with the amount of energy stored in a tank of gasoline, and the more demanding the towing, the less they can depend on slick aero and LRR passenger car tires on sedans, the more apparent that will be. In the big picture that rivian may have had the small battery but that is also a super easy trailer to drag around.. even if it requires more energy than a 2klb slab of steel.Generally speaking, okay. But, This test was was of 2k teardrop with a tiny frontal area and probably 1/2-1/3 of any wakeboadding boat. And in my example I towed up the sierras. And both the tundra and rivian did the SAME test.
But based on the aero profile I'd say a boat is probably better off than a teardrop, even if it has more frontal area.. I'm no aerospace engineer though.
