Lets just say that he had a hand in flooding certain areas with the homeless in order to drive down property values and then turning around and buying up said depreciated properties with the help of his realtor wife. Suddenly "out of nowhere" they start cracking down on the homelessness in those very same areas and he now subsequently owns a large portion of that now burgeoning market.

Dont worry, they have convinced the whites they are an oppressor majority and the cause of all problems.

I pop a blood vessel when i think about how stupid that is. Dear white people you are the planets minority. By a lot. By like 5-1.

I told my Canadian barber the other day that he's now the local minority. At first he laughed...

Yup...the insider trading news now being released is hang worthy. Seriously
Market makers do absolutely whatever the f- benefits them. Brokers don't buy the shares you "purchase" through them and just issue you a contract for difference. If they do actually buy you what you purchased, they'll turn around and lend the security to those that want to short it, effectively using your own money against your own investment. Around 95% of retail orders go into dark pools and never hit the lit market. Odd orders (the vast majority of retail purchases) don't affect the price of the underlying in any way. Companies get shorted hundreds of percent over their float. ETFs stifle price discovery and are abused to extents most people can't even imagine. The same shares get sold dozens of times. Rules are passed when and as needed to protect the abusive parties. Transparency is non-existent. Countless share purchases fail to deliver. Insider trading is just a tiny little cherry on top. The whole system is nothing but a blatantly rigged casino. Legalized theft.

Agreed. The whole financial system is a ponzi scheme. The thing is, to fix it, will require a total sh*t storm (by design) that most people aren't willing to face...and so we continue on the course of willfully accepted ass raping.

Decentralized finance will eventually replace everything. You will be your own bank and your own market maker. Settlement will be real time, transparency will be absolute, fraud will be borderline impossible. The current system of raping and pillaging the working classes is not sustainable. Money rules and decides everything, from starting wars to recycling your plastics, to educating your kids. If we keep the status quo, even if we don't blow ourselves up, we'll destroy what's left of the environment and starve ourselves to death. We have to fix financial inequality, greed and corruption if we want to survive as a species.

I like your optimism, but there is no way the powers that be will allow this to happen. The digital Yuan is already out and the digital Dollar will be out eventually. It is ready to be implemented now, it just needs approval. Bitcoin and other crypto is a ruse to get people to accept digital currency as an accepted option.

Once so, everyone will have government controlled digital wallets. They will know WHAT you buy, WHEN you buy it, WHERE it was bought and how much was paid. They will have the ability to deny you whatever purchase they want for whatever reason they deem necessary in the name of "safety and security". Purchasing alcohol after midnight? Nope...this cuts down on DUI's. We are all safer because of it. You hold political views that are considered "domestic terroristic". Good luck buying anything. It is the ultimate in control. Do what we say or suffer the consequences. This is what governments slowly migrate to, not the other way around. You see once free nations moving towards totalitarianism happening already.

A thread about the viability of EVs as a replacement for the LC 200 is now a screed on wealth disparity, financial market transparency/corruption, social equality/equity, government conspiracy theories and the loss of belief in societal trust.

As is tradition.

I do hear (and agree with) the risks you've outlined. Realistically, majority of those problems are already present in the current system. It's trivial to freeze someone's assets, or to prevent liquor stores from processing transactions after a certain time of day. These problems are exactly why DeFi is so necessary.

The digital dollar is a sad attempt to fit into the modern world. "How do you do, fellow kids?" meme comes to mind. Too little too late, IMO, and on a practical level, it changes nothing (for the better).

If we don't challenge the status quo, things will never change. DeFi is being fought against because it's a colossal risk to the useless, parasitic middlemen entities that make up the current system. No doubt there will be challenges along the entire way, but I have to believe the good fight will be won.

I agree it is necessary. What I am not agreeing with is your optimism that it will happen...or allowed to to be precise.

For a "reset" like this to happen. Markets will collapse and there will be absolute chaos. for a time. No one, (and I am meaning most people) is willing to give up there internet, Starbuck latte's, and streaming services in order for this to happen. No way...no how.

Also, you can freeze ones assets, but cash still allows purchases. Purchases in cash cannot be easily tracked or shutdown. Digital currency without cash "fixes" those problems and can target individuals while leaving others and businesses unscathed, which creates further impartiality to individual right violations when it doesn't affect anyone else.

Lol what the hell is this thread now?

The end is coming and that started when the 300 didn’t get a split gate and reconfirmed when the 300 would not be sold in the U.S. Oh well, EVs aren’t my cup of tea. I wonder if EV owners(majority) have this sensation of exceptionalism when they see an ICE vehicle. I sincerely ask this, because my buddy at the gym almost whooped an EV owners a$$ yesterday when he caught a Tesla owner parked next to him preparing to key his lifted F350 Platinum he just spent $3k getting all the dings and scratches out a couple weeks ago. He was on the stairmaster that literally faces the parking lot with truck in plain sight. He was watching this moron looking around to see if anyone was watching him. He ran out so quick, I bet that guy crapped his pants. He gave him a nice talking to and the guy apparently acted like he wasn’t doing anything. I had a similar situation with my cls63 in Boulder, CO at the dang Whole Foods parking lot 🙄

The elitism of any "camp" against others is a large part of what's messed up with this world. Nothing is "us vs them," and if more people realized that, we'd all be much better off.

Those that willfully damage other people's property deserve a special place in hell.

I drive a Tesla because it is: fast, sporty, fun to drive, mechanically simple, and lastly economical/environmental. When I drive the Tesla then get back in my 200 it just feels old, slow and overall an ancient (and the same could be said for me). It’s sort of like comparing a typewriter to a modern computer set up. When I get an EV truck it will be for similar reasons.

But EVs aren’t everyone’s cup of tea. I would caution judgment without spending considerable time driving one yourself.

I definitely see the qualities of EV ownership. I remember a couple friends and some crazy family members saying how out of date my watches will be, how unnessarily expensive they are and the iwatch is much better in all ways. I knew they were full of it and I bought an iwatch anyways. I actually like it for working out and outdoor sports. However, I love my mechanicals so much more. Funny you us the typewriter analogy, as I actually miss the clicking sounds and the way it felt to type paper on. I am super old school in many ways and I've owned some of the fasted production cars you can buy, however that is no longer a factor into my buying decisions. Not sure I buy the claim that EV's are environmental. A lot of environmental damage is done producing batteries. China is not exactly careful in how it cares for the environment.

There are just as many of these douches rolling coal and trying to mow down cyclists in their deleted / 24” wheel lifted diesels. Every enthusiast segment has their share of morons that don’t represent all owners.

Signed,
—Not an elitist Tesla owner

It's insane how many left leaning idiots have consumed Tennessee.
