4.88 R/P with master install kits for both.

got it- updated above.

also- for any California people- Robbie will be coming to California (northern) later in October and will be setting up a few sets of gears, engines/headgaskets..............so if you are thinking about gears or other items and want them set up right. Pm me for more info.

lol- finally someone asked- i was j/k on the 6.17s but figured that would peak someones interest on the 80forum. I figured Nay or Creepersleeper would be all over it since they are probably dieing to flog some 42s.:D

Update- 2 more interested

so far:

1- 4.56/master kit
6- 4.88s/ master kits
1- 5.29 / master kit
1-6.17:D

What kind of price difference are we talking? Or are you waiting to find that all out once you get the number of people interested?

I'm going to get some 4.88's in the future, and depending on the price now might be a good time to join in on this.

Thanks!

Given that gears are fairly pricey- $600-$800 plus master install kits ranging a $200more...........even a 10-15% discount would end up paying for a "build kit".

My theory is: used 4.88 or 5.29s are NOT showing up in the classifieds section any time soon....... and if they were---would you really buy someones flogged gears??????

I cant tell you how many times ive skipped group buys----only to be paying full price--a few months later.....:bang:

On something this costly- any type of discount should be worth taking the plunge- especially if you dont want to be :bang: a few months from now.

Im totally speculating on a discount at this point because i havent thrown this out to the various vendors...........but i imagine that any vendor sitting on 10+ gear/kits sales......plus another residual 5-10 who have spotted this thread "too late".........should be very attractive in this economy.

Ok I gotcha. I know 100% that I will put 4.88's in the truck, but it won't be for a year or two (i'm starting to build it up now). I was curious as to how much the discount would be since it may be better for me to buy them now, even if I have to let them sit on the shelf for that long period of time.

Depending on gear and component quality:

1 set of 4.88's with Master kits for E-lockers. (assuming one set is for one truck)

Updated numbers:

1- 4.56/master kit
9- 4.88s/ master kits
1- 5.29 / master kit

I will likely start to contact some vendors on Friday if we can hit 15+.............this may be a solid number for vendors to work with as far as a healthy discount that should have quite a bit of residual interest from "latecomers" to the thread.

4.88s front and rear with masters no e-lockers here :bang: I don't think it matters, but I saw someone else specify:meh:

x2 on vendor and quality

So far looks like 13 and growing rapidly.

I will be contacting vendors sometime tomorrow afternoon-----hopefully by that time we will have surpassed the 15-20 interested parties mark and be leveraging our "group buy" with some solid immediate numbers and likely a good 5-10 more interested people who simply havent seen this thread or havent been on mud in a bit.
